The National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) is committed to support mental health inpatient units in operationalizing work and long-term facilities in de-institutionalization in line with international standards and the national mental health strategy for Lebanon (2024-2030). In order to do so, the programme is recruiting a field coordinator to conduct regular visits to hospitals to support facilities in implementing care that is person-centered, and rights-based. The location of this position is in Beirut with frequent field trips to cazas (3 days of field visits a week).
A. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular field trips to facilities (General hospitals with mental health inpatient unit and long-term institutions).
- Follow up on the operations of mental health inpatient units in general hospitals and long-term institutions including de-institutionalization plans.
- Assess progress to targets, challenges, good practices, and provide support and recommendations.
- Monitor the implementations of the recommendations from previous visits.
- Administer, when needed, checklists and surveys pertinent to following up on the progress of activities.
- Support capacity building sessions and on the job coaching as needed.
- Complete field documentation when needed.
- Participate in coordination meetings as needed.
- Coordinate with the relevant supervisor to provide the required support.
- Prepare visit reports and monthly reports that summarize activities done.
B. DELIVERABLES
- Field visits reports with findings and recommendations.
- Follow up tracking document for implementation of work and de-institutionalization plans.
- Contribution to project monitoring requirements and evaluation reports.
- Capacity building documentation, when needed.
- Meeting Minutes, when needed.
C. QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, psychology, nursing, or related field,
- A minimum of 3 years of proven previous experience in working in mental health services, conducting field visits and monitoring visits or related fields,
- Knowledge of mental health inpatient units’ operations, hospitals standards, QualityRights is a plus.
- Project management experience is a plus.
