IT Officer - Part Time

The IT Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of the NMHP’s information technology systems. This position involves delivering technical support, maintaining IT infrastructure, securing data, and assisting with digital tools essential for program implementation and donor compliance. The role requires capabilities in planning, budgeting, deploying, maintaining, and monitoring technology systems to ensure optimal performance and a seamless user experience.

The coordination will be done with the internal team and with the IT and development suppliers.

 

A. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1.  Technical Support

  • Effectively diagnose and resolve technical problems.
  • Provide timely support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date security tools including antivirus software and firewalls with the IT providers.
  • Implement and enforce IT policies in alignment with organizational guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to data protection regulations and industry best practices.
  • Track and manage IT assets across the organization.
  • Install and regularly update software, including antivirus and security patches.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and propose relevant updates.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with tools such as SharePoint, OneDrive, and other collaboration platforms.
  • Provide feedback and updates to the management regarding the progress and status of IT projects in coordination to the project internal technical focal persons.
  • Manage user accounts and enforce access controls and security measures.
  • Respond promptly to service requests via phone, in-person, or remote support.

 

   2.  Maintenance & Repairs

  • Support the setup and troubleshooting of all IT hardware.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of mental health information systems.
  • Set up and ensure proper functioning of equipment for trainings and events (e.g., laptops, projectors, audio systems).
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on all IT systems and devices.
  • Maintain a current and accurate inventory of IT assets and monitor their use and condition.
  • Serve as the first contact for all incoming and outgoing IT-related requests.
  • Diagnose, repair, or replace malfunctioning equipment.
  • Keep the IT inventory well-organized and updated.

 

  3.  Data Security & Backup

  • Implement robust data protection strategies, including regular local and cloud-based backups.
  • Oversee system upgrades, backup solutions, data recovery protocols, and cybersecurity practices.

 

    4.   Training & Capacity Building

  • Deliver IT system training sessions for internal stakeholders, including onboarding and refresher courses.
  • Organize capacity-building workshops on digital tools and data management systems.

 

  5.  Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain detailed records of IT processes, licenses, and issue logs.
  • Support proposal development with technical insights and IT budgeting input.
  • Participate in procurement activities in line with organizational procedures.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance in procurement and financial processes.
  • Assist in budget assessments and create expenditure forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized tracking system for all IT assets, applications, and credentials.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for hardware inventory, software licenses, and user accounts.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager relevant to this role.

 

B. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in IT support and infrastructure management.
  • Proven experience in managing complex IT projects and implementing IT infrastructure across multiple platforms.
  • Solid understanding of IT systems, cybersecurity, network and system administration, databases, and telecommunications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with other departments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • High ethical standards and integrity in handling sensitive data.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.

 

Specific Software:

  • Front end Next Js, Back End. Net, Database SQL server, code monitoring sonar cube, DevOps Azure Devops, microsoft azure
