Role Description

NAHNOO is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support its Finance Department in mainly managing daily accounting tasks and assist the Finance Manager and relevant staff on financial matters. This role is ideal for someone with junior finance knowledge who is looking to strengthen their experience in the NGO sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Process invoices and expense claims
•    Verify, prepare and issue the payments
•    Handle bank transfers with the coordination with the bank, as well as transfer through other 3rd parties
•    Bookkeeping and tracking of journal entries in the accounting system on daily basis (Silicon Senior Accounting System)
•    Help with monthly bank and cash reconciliations
•    Conduct regular filing of all financial documents & data: ensure proper and adequate physical filing system for all financial and accounting documents along with appropriate and smooth digital archiving of all financial files
•    Support in the preparation of financial reports and funders reports
•    Coordinate with Administrative Officer on tracking office expenses and operations (such as inventory)
•    Follow up with Procurement Manager to ensure correct & signed financial documentation supporting project and organizational expenses
•    Support in preparing documentation for financial audits
•    Perform other daily administrative and finance-related tasks as required

 

Educational qualifications & professional experience

-    Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
-    Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Accounting and Financial Administration position
-    Previous professional experience in a non-profit organization is mandatory (minimum 1 year)
-    Prior experience (including internships or volunteer roles) in finance is a plus
-    Motivation in building a career in the non-profit/NGO sector

Key competencies

- Computer literacy, including Proficiency in MS Office applications (particularly Excel), Google Workspace and accounting software (e.g., Silicon or similar)
- Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
- Excellent organizational skills, punctuality and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure
- Very good analytical skills, solution oriented
- Detail-oriented and thorough
- Team spirited
- Reliable, serious and committed
