ECE and BLN Teachers

Job Purpose : 

  • The Early Childhood Education (ECE) program targets children aged 3 to 5 years to support their development—cognitive, social, emotional, and physical—through a play-based and child-centered curriculum. The program prepares children for successful transition into formal schooling.
  • The BLN program targets out-of-school children aged 8–14 to provide foundational literacy and numeracy skills and help them reintegrate into formal education. The program aligns with MEHE’s non-formal education framework.

Key Responsibilities for ECE & BLN Teachers:

Curriculum Delivery & Lesson Planning

  • Deliver age-appropriate and interactive lessons based on the approved curriculum (ECE or BLN).
  • Develop and follow weekly lesson plans aligned with learning objectives.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet students’ individual needs and abilities.

Classroom Management & Student Engagement

  • Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Promote positive behavior, student participation, and collaboration.

Learning Materials & Preparation

  • Prepare and utilize educational materials, games, and visual aids to enhance learning.
  • Request and manage necessary supplies through the Education Coordinator.
  • Maintain a clean, child-friendly classroom setting.

Student Assessment & Progress Tracking

  • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and follow up on absenteeism.
  • Monitor student learning outcomes and report challenges or delays to the ECE & BLN Coordinator.

Child Protection & Well-being

  • Ensure adherence to Genius Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct.
  • Identify and refer protection concerns or at-risk students to the Protection or Social Work team.
  • Report any incidents, concerns, or accidents immediately.

 

Coordination & Capacity Building

  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
  • Provide feedback on curriculum, materials, and student needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and high-quality education delivery.

Education & Experience

Education:

  • TS (Technical Degree) or BA in Education, Early Childhood Education, or any relevant field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of teaching experience, preferably in non-formal or formal education settings.
  • Experience working with vulnerable or refugee children is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with the Lebanese MEHE curriculum for Non-Formal Education (BLN) and/or Early Childhood Education frameworks is a plus.

Languages:

  • Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) is required.
  • Basic proficiency in English or French is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Good command of basic computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to use digital learning platforms is an added advantage.
