Content Writer / Journalist - Lebanon Innovate

1. Context & Background:

Lebanon Innovate is a national initiative co-funded by the European Union, designed to strengthen and support Lebanon’s innovation ecosystem — the network of entrepreneurs, researchers, institutions, support organizations, and enablers working to transform ideas into impactful solutions across sectors like agriculture, healthcare, ICT, and beyond.

At the heart of this initiative is LebanonInnovate.com — a dynamic and evolving online knowledge portal that serves as a central hub for tools, insights, and stories from Lebanon’s growing innovation landscape.

The Lebanon Innovate Portal is designed to:

• Provide entrepreneurs, students, researchers, and ecosystem players with access to toolkits, reports, case studies, articles, and videos
• Showcase success stories and innovations emerging from Lebanon
• Serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, inspiration, and capacity building

To ensure this platform remains up-to-date, engaging, and visually aligned with the project’s branding, we are seeking a content management and multimedia editing consultant. This consultant will play a key role in organizing, refining, and enhancing the portal’s content experience — including uploading resources, editing videos, applying branding, and improving content flow and visibility.

2. Scope of Work:

The consultant will work closely with the Lebanon Innovate Communications Team to:

• Research and write engaging, well-structured content including articles, interviews, case studies, and op-eds to be used and uploaded on the Lebanon Innovate Portal (website)
• Cover innovation-related topics across agriculture, healthcare, ICT, and other sectors
• Potential small investigative pieces
• Conduct interviews with entrepreneurs, researchers, and ecosystem actors
• Translate technical or scientific information into accessible, reader-friendly narratives in English or Arabic
• Ensure all content aligns with Lebanon Innovate’s tone, branding, and purpose
• Support the development of short-form content for social media when needed
• Pitch and propose content ideas that highlight national innovation efforts
• Possibility of attending relevant events to transform event learnings into accessible and interesting content that can be used

3. Deliverables and Timeline:

The consultancy will run from August to October 2025, with potential for renewal based on performance and project needs.

Deliverables will include:

• 4 original articles or written pieces per month, in Arabic or English
• Monthly pitches for upcoming content themes or story leads
• Finally, edited versions of each article submitted in Word and web format
• Ad-hoc content pieces for newsletters or social posts as needed
• Brief monthly summary of completed work

Deliverables are to be submitted on a rolling basis, coordinated with the content calendar.

4. Reporting and Communication:

• Reports to the Communications Team Lead of Lebanon Innovate
• Regular check-ins (virtual or onsite as needed) for editorial alignment
• Content drafts, edits, and approvals coordinated through shared folders and content tracker

5. Evaluation and Approval:

Performance will be evaluated based on:

• Quality, originality, and clarity of writing
• Ability to translate complex ideas into engaging narratives
• Timeliness and responsiveness to feedback
• Initiative in proposing relevant, interesting content ideas

All deliverables will be reviewed and approved by the Communications Team before publication.

All proposals must be submitted in Euros and should specify monthly fees distributed evenly over a 3-month period.
