WeWorld – Finance Coordinator
General Description
WeWorld has been working in Lebanon since 2006 and is now supporting vulnerable populations through emergency WASH, shelter, basic assistance and protection interventions as well as Water Governance and Local Economic Development programs aiming at increasing the resilience of the concerned communities, in the Bekaa Valley and Akkar.
Duty Station: Beirut
Job Title: Finance Coordinator
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Duration: Full-time – 6 months renewable depending on good performance
Summary of Key Functions and Responsibilities
The Finance Coordinator (FC) will be supporting the Financial Manager and will be responsible for the financial and administrative support for the programmes of WeWorld in Lebanon. He/She will ensure compliance with reporting and expenditure requirements. The FC is based in Beirut.
The Finance Coordinator will be deployed in Lebanon and follow rule, management and regulation of the Lebanon mission.
Generic Objectives:
- Maintain budget overview and monitor cash flow;
- Prepare financial reports in compliance with donor requirements;
- Ensure proper filing of all financial documents;
- Prepare budget forecasts under the supervision of the Financial Manager;
- Supervise the financial officer and financial assistant.
Specific responsibilities:
- Ensure coordination between Finance Manager and Finance team;
- Supervise and implement daily financial and administrative tasks to ensure the functioning of WeWorld Offices;
- Monitor and control Payroll, NSSF and income tax preparation in coordination with the HR department and Finance Officer;
- Supervise the VAT quarterly report declaration and VAT annual refund request;
- Coordinate with independent auditors for reports and TAX declaration;
- Ensure that all the expenditures are properly and timely uploaded in the GVC financial system;
- Supervise the correct management of WeWorld cash and bank accounts and the correct usage of WeWorld payment tools;
- Supervise the correct reconciliation of all bank and cash accounts;
- Maintain financial archives in accordance with donor requirements;
- Develop and implement good financial procedures and control system in line with WeWorld guidelines
- Prepare and share with the Finance Manager monthly progress reports.
COMPETENCIES
Essential requirements
- Degree in Finance or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge with financial reporting
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken
Desirable requirements
- Previous experience with NGOs
- Knowledge of donor guidelines (I.e. EU, Italian Cooperation, UN agencies, etc.)
- Team-work attitude in coordination of staff under his/her supervision
- Problem solving skills
- Knowledge of Lebanese fiscal laws
