AECP Manager (#RF202507)

I. Introduction:

The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014. LRI drives transformative environmental solutions by restoring ecosystems, enhancing climate resilience, and promoting sustainable agriculture and land management. Through innovation, advocacy, and policy engagement, we empower communities, especially women and youth to lead in circular economy models and green enterprises, ensuring long-term environmental and socio-economic sustainability.

For the last five years, LRI has been managing Arz Ehmej Conservation Park under a collaboration agreement with the Municipality of Ehmej.

II. Purpose of the position:

LRI is currently seeking a manager for Arz Ehmej Conservation Park to manage the facilities and activities of the park.

III. Tasks & Responsabilities:

1. Operational Management

  • Oversee day-to-day AECP's main building, kitchen and bungalows operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards.
  • Coordinate activities between front desk, housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance, and outdoor activities team.
  • Ensure all facilities, rooms, and public spaces are well-maintained and eco-friendly.

2. Guest Experience

  • Train the reception team and oversee their work to ensure guests receive warm, informative, and memorable experiences that reflect AECP’s environmental values.
  • Coordinate with LRI team to organize eco-tours, outdoor activities, and educational programs in collaboration with Ehmej municipality and LRI.
  • Oversee reservations and special requests and develop and oversee a feedback mechanism with a solution-oriented attitude.
  • Regularly analyze occupancy, clients feedback and team performance and propose adjustments for regular improvement.

3. Staff Leadership

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate team members.
  • Foster a supportive, respectful, and motivated team environment.
  • Schedule shifts and manage staff performance to ensure operational efficiency.

4. Kitchen Oversight

  • Supervise kitchen services, staff, food quality, and hygiene practices.
  • Collaborate with chefs on seasonal, locally sourced menus that reflect AECP’s natural offerings.
  • Monitor inventory, supplier relations, and food safety compliance.

5. Budgeting & Revenue Management

  • Manage budgets for lodging, F&B, and park services, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.
  • Track revenues, control expenses.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize spending and increase profitability.
  • Set pricing, seasonal packages, and promotional planning.
  • Work with the finance team to prepare a yearly budget for AECP.
  • Work with the communication team on marketing campaigns and packages to attract more visitors and clients.
  • Conduct monthly fund reviews with the finance team to track finances and make needed adjustments.

6. Financial & Administrative Duties

  • Review daily sales reports for lodging, restaurant, and activities.
  • Track cash flow, expenses, and income; report discrepancies or unusual trends.
  • Manage inventory and stock control, including purchasing and consumption reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, invoices, petty cash, and vendor payments.
  • Work with the finance team to prepare monthly reports, revenue summaries, and forecasts.
  • Ensure POS systems, booking platforms, and accounting records are up to date and reconciled.

7.Event Planning & Coordination

  • Organize and manage events such as private bookings, eco-education workshops, group retreats, weddings, and seasonal festivals.
  • Coordinate logistics including space setup, menu planning, staffing, and guest communications.
  • Ensure that events reflect AECP’s eco-friendly and natural values.
  • Work closely with external vendors, entertainers, and service providers when needed.
  • Supervise events on the ground to ensure smooth execution and guest satisfaction.

8. Environmental Stewardship

  • Integrate AECP’s conservation principles into all hospitality operations.
  • Educate staff and guests about eco-friendly practices (waste management, energy-saving, etc.).
  • Support Park initiatives such as reforestation, wildlife preservation, and sustainable development.

9. Health & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with local laws and AECP safety protocols.
  • Train staff in emergency procedures and conduct regular safety checks.
  • Address any incidents or hazards quickly and effectively.

IV. Requirements:

The AECP Manager should possess the following competencies, skills, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, Accounting, Economics, or any related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in management.
  • Able to handle heavy workload, unplanned tasks, and urgent requests.
  • High degree of integrity, ethics, and discretion.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to adapt under different work conditions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • MS Office suite.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.
