Summary
The Community Mobilizer will work to engage and empower community members to participate in development initiatives and address local issues. He /She will act as a bridge between Caritas Lebanon project's team and Tyre community, fostering participation, and ensuring that the community's needs and priorities are addressed.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with community members, leaders, and stakeholders.
• Motivating community members to actively participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects.
• Creating spaces for open communication and dialogue within the community to identify needs and solutions.
• Working to ensure that community-led initiatives are sustainable in the long term. Effectively and efficiently facilitate Implementation of Community led interventions at the project level to ensure that communities are empowered for sustainable development.
Other Qualifications
• At least 2 years of implementation of community led initiatives.
• Minimum understanding of human rights, particularly the rights of refugees, migrant workers, and gender-based violence.
• Be a resident of Tyre, with the ability to work in South Lebanon.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are crucial for conveying information, facilitating discussions, and building relationships.
• Community mobilizers need to be able to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, build trust, and create a positive and inclusive environment.
• Problem-Solving, able to identify and analyze community issues, develop solutions, and implement action plans.
• Ability to lead discussions, encourage participation, and guide communities in identifying their needs and developing solutions is essential.
• Teamwork and the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a shared goal is important.
• Organizational Skills such as Managing tasks, coordinating activities, and keeping track of progress are important for effective community mobilization.
• Active listening skills is crucial for understanding community concerns, identifying needs, and building trust.
• A deep understanding and respect for cultural differences are essential for working effectively with diverse communities.
• The ability to mediate conflicts and negotiate solutions is valuable in community settings.
• Report Writing: Documenting activities, progress, and outcomes is important for accountability and learning.
• Spoken Arabic is required. Spoken and written English is strongly preferred. Spoken french is a plus.
