- Background Information:
The Community Organization for Development and Empowerment-TCODE-INITIATE is a Nongovernmental, nonprofit, youth-oriented organization based in Lebanon and dedicated to assisting vulnerable communities through youth inclusion and empowerment. While keeping youth at its focus of its mission, TCODE-INITIATE continually endeavors in creating comprehensive and inclusive programs aimed towards the empowerment of youth, and its concentric circles of influence.
In the process of delivering its Mission TCODE-INITIATE aspires to keeping its status as a hub for youth allowing them to: access a safe space and acquire knowledge and access to a network of social and political influencers enhancing their social participation in decision making processes.
- Purpose of the Contract:
INITIATE in partnership with UN Women and the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) unit at The union of municipalities of Tyre with the generous funding from the republic of Korea, is supporting women-led small-scale production initiatives, including traditional distillation of herbs and floral water products. To ensure product quality, safety, and market readiness, the project seeks a consultant to train women on proper distillation techniques with a focus on quality assurance and consistency.
- Objective:
To enhance participants’ technical skills in the distillation process and introduce quality control measures for improved product safety and marketability. - Scope of Work / Tasks:
- Assess existing knowledge and practices among participants.
- Develop a training plan focused on:
- The step-by-step distillation process.
- Hygiene and safety standards.
- Quality control and product consistency.
- Proper storage and labeling.
- Deliver hands-on training sessions, including live demonstrations.
- Provide individual guidance and troubleshoot participant challenges.
- Submit a final report with training outcomes and recommendations for future production.
- Deliverables:
- Training materials and practical guides.
- Delivery of 10 training sessions.
- Quality control checklist/template for future use.
- Final training report.
- Required Qualifications:
- Technical background in herbal production, distillation, or natural product manufacturing.
- Experience in quality control processes.
- Demonstrated experience working with community-based women-led initiatives.
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills.
