Major Responsibilities:
- Help children identify, express, and manage their emotions.
- Provide safe spaces for children to talk about traumatic experiences.
- Use techniques such as play therapy, art therapy, or storytelling to support emotional healing
- Teach children healthy ways to cope with stress and adversity.
- Reinforce positive behavior and resilience.
- Support development of personal strengths and self-esteem.
- Create consistent, structured routines to reduce anxiety.
- Build trust between children and with facilitator.
- Promote teamwork, cooperation, and positive relationships through group activities.
- Address issues like bullying, exclusion, or aggression in peer interactions.
- Facilitate inclusive, respectful behavior.
- Detect signs of severe distress, trauma, or abuse.
- Maintain confidentiality while referring cases to specialized mental health or protection services.
- Track behavioral and emotional changes in children over time.
- Use assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
- Adjust activities based on feedback and observed needs.
- Ensure all activities are aligned with “do no harm” principles.
- Respect children’s rights, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Uphold safeguarding protocols at all times.
Professional Standards:
All RMF staff are required to adhere to the RMF policies and practices with respect to child protection minimum standards, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
- University degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Training in child protection, psychosocial support, or mental health is a strong asset.
- Experience in working with children affected by conflict, displacement, or trauma is highly preferred.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Solid understanding of child development and behavior, Psychosocial support principles, and protection concerns affecting vulnerable children.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Sensitivity to cultural, gender, and protection issues.
- Results-oriented, flexible, and adaptable.
- High integrity and respect for confidentiality and child safeguarding.
