Consultant to work on content of legal booklet and info graph

  1. General Information

Justice without Frontiers (JWF), a dynamic active local non-governmental juristic organization founded in Beirut in 2005, is deeply committed to championing human rights, justice, democracy, peace, and the rule of law. Over the last decade, JWF's impactful work has addressed crucial initiatives, from addressing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (S/GBV) to empowering women's access to justice, advocating for marginalized individuals, combating human trafficking, and more.

 

  1. Request:

JWF is seeking a qualified consultant to develop one informative and user-friendly Q&A booklet (30–40 pages) on Lebanese laws related to domestic violence, sexual harassment, and gender-based violence, and one clear and engaging 4-page info graph leaflet summarizing the key points from the booklet. This is under the project “Together For Access to Justice” which is part of the ‘Expertise France - Women Empowerment Hub in Lebanon (WE-HUB),’ financed by the Neighborhood, Development, and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI-Global Europe) under the European Commission.

 

  1. Scope of work and deliverables

The Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Research any existing legal frameworks, guides, policies, and materials on domestic violence including laws to protect women and other family members from domestic violence
  • Research on the legal aspects of domestic violence, including laws, regulations, procedures, and support systems available for victims.
  • Develop clear, accurate, and user-friendly content including the following key topics: definition of domestic violence, legal rights of victims, procedures for obtaining legal protection and support and GBV
  • Ensure that the content is legally accurate and conforms to current national laws and best practices
  • The legal booklet and info graph should include relevant examples and case studies, where applicable, to enhance understanding and provide practical context
  • The language of the legal booklet and info graph should be in Arabic
  • Submit the first draft of the legal booklet and info graph to the JWF team for review and feedback.
  • The consultant will coordinate with JWF’s Communication Officer, who will liaise directly with EF’s Communication Officer to ensure all posts align with EF and EU communication and visibility guidelines.
  • Provide a finalized version of the booklet and the info graph. They should be in a digital format (e.g., PDF

 

  1. Skills and Experience required:

 

  • A law degree (or equivalent) is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of domestic violence law, women's rights, or family law.
  • Proven experience in developing legal materials, educational content, or booklets, particularly related to Domestic violence
  • Excellent research abilities, with the capacity to gather and analyze legal materials and resources related to domestic violence.
  • Experience in designing user-friendly educational materials for non-legal audiences.
  • Knowledge of Lebanese laws related to human rights, refugees, women's rights, and resolution mechanisms.
