1. Background
The Lebanese Democratic Women’s Gathering (RDFL), under its UN Trust Fund–supported project "Her Story, Our Fight", is integrating economic empowerment as a core strategy to reduce women’s vulnerability to gender-based violence. As part of Output 2.2, the program seeks to deliver financial literacy programs that equip GBV survivors and at-risk women with the knowledge and tools to manage personal finances, make informed economic decisions, and pursue sustainable livelihoods.
2. Objective of the Assignment
To design and deliver survivor-centered financial literacy sessions that promote financial independence, build budgeting skills, and enhance access to economic opportunities for women and girls impacted by GBV.
3. Key Responsibilities
3.1. Program Design & Curriculum Development
- Adapt a financial literacy curriculum tailored for low-literacy and trauma-affected women and adolescent girls.
- Align content with survivor-centered principles and GBV-sensitive facilitation techniques.
- Integrate basic financial planning, saving, budgeting, borrowing, risk management, and access to services (banks, mobile money, cooperatives).
3.2. Facilitation and Delivery
- Deliver a 6 sessions per location.
- Use participatory and visual techniques to ensure engagement and comprehension.
- Encourage peer learning, goal setting, and confidence building during sessions.
3.3. Linkages & Referrals
- Coordinate with case manager and shelter coordinator to identify and refer participants with potential for further vocational training or employment support.
- Facilitate access to local microfinance institutions, savings groups, or income-generating initiatives.
3.4. Monitoring and Reporting
- Conduct pre/post assessments to measure knowledge gains and financial behavior shifts.
- Document attendance, success stories, challenges, and feedback.
- Submit monthly reports and a final summary report with recommendations.
4. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Social Work, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in delivering financial literacy or women’s economic empowerment programs.
- Proven experience working with vulnerable women or GBV survivors in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Strong facilitation, empathy, and communication skills; trauma-informed training is an asset.
- Fluent in Arabic; English proficiency is preferred.
- Female trainers from local communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
5. Ethics and Safeguarding
- Commitment to Do No Harm, survivor-centered, and confidentiality protocols.
- Must sign and abide by RDFL’s Code of Conduct, PSEA, and Child Safeguarding policies.
