Statistician | Research Scientist | Data Analyst

Ana Aqra Association, in partnership with the Center for Research and Development in Pedagogy (CRDP), is recruiting a Statistician | Research Scientist | Data Analyst to support its SEL School Readiness and Transitioning Project.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The main tasks to be completed by the consultant include but are not limited to:

• Design and manage databases, ensure accurate data entry, cleaning, and coding.
• Conduct statistical and qualitative analyses, including cross-tabulations and trends.
• Develop data visualizations and evidence summaries to support validation and policy dialogues.
• Document analysis processes and support final reporting.
• Archive anonymized datasets and codebooks for institutional use.

Educational Background

• PHD in educational statistics, applied statistics or other social sciences disciplines with special focus on statistics, monitoring and evaluation, learning performance assessment, or survey implementation and policy.

Previous Experience

• At least 10 years of « professional » and / or « higher education » experience in the design, collection and the analysis of statistical data, especially data coming from educational background.
• Proficiency in applying statistical theory and techniques to design, plan and manage data collection and processing efforts for large scale surveys and/or censuses.
• Experience in data analysis and report development for technical and non-technical audiences.

Languages

• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English; French is a plus.

• Excellent computer and other IT skills, good command of statistical applications such as STATA, SPSS, R;
• Proven expertise in managing surveys.
• Experience working in and/or with national / official data sets.
• Knowledge of international standards for official statistics.
• Proven expertise in producing statistical reports.
• Experience with sampling methods, design and implementation.
• Experience with design and system programming of questionnaires in survey software.
• Understanding of qualitative and quantitative approaches in social sciences and educational research.
• Ability to design, implement and evaluate educational projects.
