Ana Aqra Association, in collaboration with CRDP, seeks an ECE Consultant – Principal Investigator to lead a national research study on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), school readiness, and transitioning. The PI will design methodology, oversee data collection, ensure rigor and ethics, and synthesize findings into policy outputs.
The main tasks to be completed by the consultant include but are not limited to:
· Design and present an inception report with methodology, sampling, culturally relevant tools, and ethical safeguards.
· Lead and oversee high-quality data collection (quantitative and qualitative), ensuring rigor and alignment with ECE standards and child protection principles.
· Guide research-policy dialogues with CRDP, MEHE, and stakeholders to validate findings and align recommendations.
· Synthesize and interpret evidence into a Final Research Report and policy brief.
· Ensure dissemination of findings to inform ECE curricula, transition policies, and advocacy efforts.
Educational Background
· PHD in education, special education, or other social paramedical field with special focus on early childhood development, early childhood education and curriculum design.
· Project Management degree or certification is preferred.
Previous Experience
· At least 10 years of « professional » and / or « higher education » experience in early childhood development, early childhood education and
curriculum design.
· Proficiency assessing and designing curriculum for early childhood education.
· Proven experience with donor-funded projects is strongly preferred.
· Solid Knowledge and experience ECE, including nurturing care framework and care for child development approach.
· Solid knowledge and experience in Preschool Learning Foundations, and Curriculum Frameworks.
· Solid Experience of ECD/ECE programs in national and international context.
· Proven experience with public sector is a plus.
· Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
· Familiarity with the political and institutional context of the country.
Languages
· Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English and French.
