Pharmacist - Beirut

Key responsibilities  

Accountability and Complexity 

  • Manages own workload 
  • Works with a moderate degree of supervision and guidance 
  • Impacts quality service delivery 
  • Represent the organization to communities and partners  
  • Follows standardized procedures and practices and receives regular but moderate supervision and guidance 

Program Implementation-related deliverables 

  • Provide technical support for the best practices in the management of the PHC pharmacy in terms of storage and tracking of drug waste. 
  • Assess the drug consumption at each supported PHC and prepare the medication procurement documents accordingly, in coordination with RI’s Global Pharmacist. 
  • Engage with SCO on the medication procurement process and ensure proper delivery of medications to the supported PHCs. 
  • Ensure that appropriate education and drug administration and dosing guidelines are available to guide medical, and nursing staff. 
  • Evaluate the needs of Primary Health Care Centers in terms of training, supply chain, etc. 
  • Track availability of supplies, medications, supplements, family planning commodities at PHCCs and flag major shortages to the Health and Nutrition Coordinators; 
  • Report on tracer medications in PHCCs on a monthly basis. 
  • Contribute to the program dashboard by reporting on medication dispensing and shortages at the supported PHCCs 
  • Contribute to internal and external reporting related to the implemented projects. 
  • The job holder should demonstrate a high level of cultural sensitivity, professionalism, politeness and objectivity when dealing with the beneficiaries under all circumstances;   
  • The job holder must ensure data collection and reporting in an effective and efficient manner while emphasizing quality and accuracy at all times.
