Project Officer (Emergency Preparedness and Response Assistance)

IOCC is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Officer to support the implementation of the 2025–2026 World Food Programme (WFP)-funded School Meals Programme and Emergency Nutrition Support activities.

The Project Officer will support the effective implementation of the WFP-funded School Meals Programme and Emergency Nutrition Support activities, with a focus on emergency preparedness and response interventions.


Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Project Implementation & Monitoring
    • Support the day-to-day implementation of project activities, including meals distribution, community kitchens, and fortified snacks distribution.
    • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project sites, verify distribution, and ensure adherence to implementation standards.
    • Track progress against work plans and provide timely updates to the Project/Area Coordinator.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Collect, consolidate, and analyze data from the field to ensure accuracy and timely reporting to IOCC and WFP.
    • Draft activity reports, success stories, and lessons learned for internal and donor use.
    • Maintain proper documentation and filing of project records, including beneficiary data and distribution reports.
  • Coordination & Liaison
    • Coordinate with local partners, municipalities, schools, and community-based organizations to ensure smooth implementation of activities.
    • Support the organization of community engagement activities and awareness sessions related to nutrition and emergency preparedness.
    • Represent IOCC in local coordination meetings when required.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance
    • Ensure that project activities comply with donor requirements, organizational policies, and humanitarian standards.
    • Identify risks, challenges, and gaps in implementation and propose solutions.
    • Support safeguarding, accountability, and protection mainstreaming throughout all project activities.
  • Capacity Building & Support
    • Provide guidance and on-the-job support to field staff, volunteers, and community focal points.
    • Contribute to training sessions and capacity development initiatives related to nutrition, food assistance, and emergency preparedness.
  • Other Duties
    • Assist in procurement planning, logistics coordination, and resource management for project activities.
    • Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Project Coordinator/Manager to ensure smooth project delivery.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational and data-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proven project coordination and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
  • Adaptable and dynamic personality, able to work under pressure and in emergency contexts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in project implementation and/or field operations.
  • Experience in coordination, project management, or team supervision.
  • Prior experience working with NGOs or humanitarian organizations is strongly preferred.

Working Conditions

Will be based at IOCC office in Beirut with frequent visits to the field.
