MSMEs and BDS consultant

Objectives:

1. Lead on identifying capacity gaps for selected MSMEs and develop training material accordingly.
2. Deliver capacity building training to Akkarouna staff on social entrepreneurship and monitoring and evaluation of the business development services.

Responsibilities:

The consultant will be responsible for:

• Needs Assessment:
  • Design and conduct a needs assessment for the selected MSMEs to identify their specific challenges and capacity gaps.
• Training Development:
  • Develop and tailor training materials based on the findings of the needs assessment.
  • Utilize existing BDS training modules developed by SCI, while incorporating relevant and recognized resources commonly used in micro, small, and medium enterprise development.
  • Ensure that training materials cover key concepts in sales and marketing, production, operations, ICT, HR management, financial management, strategic management, and legal issues and regulations.
• Capacity Building:
  • In coordination with the Project Coordinator, deliver capacity-building trainings to the FSL field team supervising technical trainings.
  • Conduct training sessions for MSME owners, equipping them with the individual and operational skills required to strengthen business viability and profitability.
• Resource Utilization and Development:
  • Leverage the existing toolkit of resources for frontline implementers.
  • Update existing documents or develop new tools as needed to meet project objectives.
• Technical Support:
  • Provide ongoing technical guidance to MSME owners and the FSL field team to ensure practical, up-to-date, and context-appropriate knowledge transfer.
