Project Officer

The Project Officer will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities. The role ensures effective coordination with stakeholders, adherence to donor requirements, and achievement of project outcomes.

The Project Officer will be responsible for the following key tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Management:
    1. Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including timelines, milestones, and resources       allocation.
    2. Ensure effective project execution, monitoring progress, and adjusting the plan as needed.
  2. Stakeholder Communication:
    1. Act as the primary point of contact between the project team, stakeholders, and management.
    2. Facilitate regular communication and reporting to keep stakeholders informed of project status.
  3. Resource Management:
    1. Manage project resources, including personnel, budgets, and materials.
    2. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure the availability of necessary resources.
  4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    1. Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    2. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Quality Assurance:
    1. Ensure project activities and deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to best practices.
    2. Implement quality control measures and procedures.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:
    1. Maintain project documentation, including project plans, reports, and meeting minutes.
    2. Prepare regular progress reports and provide updates to management.
  7. Team Leadership:
    1. Lead and motivate project team members to achieve project objectives.
    2. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
  8. Budget Management:
    1. Monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to the project budget.
    2. Provide financial reports and forecasts as required

 

Qualifications

  • Essential qualifications:
  • Bachelor Social science, psychology or another related field.
  • Full Knowledge of protection, human rights, international law, refugee law and humanitarian principles.
  • Understanding of project design, management and implementation of field-based protection programs.
  • Understanding of program reporting.
  • Strong coordination, reporting, communication and advocacy skills.
  • Experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience in the field of humanitarian and community-based activities.
  • Experience working with community leaders and stakeholders.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong organizational, planning and time-management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Knowledge of project cycle management and M&E frameworks.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team.
    • Proven experience in project coordination or management.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
