Enumerators -Beirut Southern Suburbs

Background

Mada Association, in partnership with Nation Station and with funding from the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF), is implementing an emergency food security project in Beirut Southern Suburbs. The project targets vulnerable households through food parcel distributions, accompanied by strong accountability and monitoring mechanisms.

To support implementation, Mada is recruiting 8 Enumerators to conduct field data collection during Validation Assessments, Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM), and Community Consultations. Enumerators will ensure ethical, accurate, and timely data collection in line with Mada’s data protection, safeguarding, and PSEA standards.

Main Tasks

  • Training & induction (mandatory): 1 day capacity-building on ethical data collection, PSEA/ safeguarding, conflict-sensitive communication, informed consent, and digital tools (Kobo/Google Forms/ONA).
  • Field data collection: Door-to-door surveys with vulnerable households and community focal points; accurate capture of demographics and food security indicators (e.g., FCS, rCSI), and feedback on assistance.
  • Daily updates & escalation: End-of-day progress updates; immediate phone call to the supervisor for any critical or sensitive issues; attend in-person debriefs if requested.
  • Data verification: Phone verification and, when needed, follow-up field visits.
  • Quality & submission: On-time, complete datasets; strict adherence to consent, privacy, and safeguarding protocols.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Resident of Dahiyeh (Beirut southern suburbs).
  • For camp tasks (e.g., Bourj el-Barajneh), candidates who grew up/lived most of their lives in the camp and know the neighborhoods by heart are prioritized.
  • Arabic (read & write) — required. Basic English is an asset.
  • Prior field assessment experience in Dahiyeh and Palestinian camps.
  • Hands-on with digital tools: Kobo, Google Forms, ONA/ODK (at least user level; builder level is an asset).
  • Device & connectivity: Personal smartphone with internet + GPS; able to access Google Surveys and Kobo.
  • Use of personal phone number to coordinate assessments when needed.
  • Commitment to Mada’s mission, Code of Conduct, PSEA, and data protection standards.

Availability & Contract

  • Window: Any time between 20 September and 20 October 2025 (final schedule to be confirmed).
  • Effort: Up to 10 calendar days (1 day = 8 hours). Hours may be split across more days.
  • Fee: USD 30-35 /day, total for 8 billable days. Not including training day.
  • Contract type: Short-term service contract; payment against approved timesheet/data deliverables per Mada policy and applicable regulations.
