Job Responsibilities
Program Implementation
Assist the ECE Teacher in preparing classroom materials, equipment, and learning spaces before and during activities.
Support the delivery of planned lessons and learning activities, helping individual or small groups of children as needed.
Encourage children’s participation and self-expression during lessons and playtime.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting learning environment.
Monitoring and Reporting
Help maintain attendance records and learner files on a daily basis.
Observe children during activities, noting any developmental, behavioral, or learning concerns, and share them with the Teacher or Center Manager.
Participate in weekly staff meetings and contribute observations or feedback.
Coordination and Communication
Assist in engaging with parents or caregivers, especially in sharing children’s progress or concerns, under supervision of the ECE Teacher.
Coordinate with the ECE Teacher and other assistants/staff to ensure smooth classroom operations.
Receive and act on feedback from the Teacher and Center Manager to improve assistance and support given.
Compliance and Accountability
Ensure all activities and interactions with children respect safeguarding, child protection, and ethical principles.
Report immediately any concerns or incidents of neglect, abuse, or safety hazards to the relevant supervisor.
Follow organizational policies, donor requirements, and professional conduct in all aspects of work.
Qualification and Experience
Education
Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education, Preschool Education, or a related field (preferred).
Experience
At least 1 year of experience working with young children (ages 4–6), in formal or informal educational settings.
Previous experience supporting teachers or facilitating classroom learning is an asset.
Skills & Competencies
Strong interpersonal skills with patience and empathy when working with children.
Ability to follow instructions, adapt to teacher’s guidance, and work as part of a team.
Good organizational skills; ability to help manage classroom materials and environment.
Observational ability—able to notice learning, behavioral, or safety issues and report them.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills; fluency in Arabic is required, proficiency in English is an advantage.
