Protection Volunteer - North Bekaa - Hermel

Community Engagement and Mobilization

  • Build trust, foster participation and rapport with local communities, and contribute to increasing the organization’s acceptance in targeted communities.
  • Conduct door-to-door visits, focus groups, or public meetings to share information about available services.
  • Conduct outreach to raise awareness about rights, services, and protection risks
  • Facilitate community discussions on safety, inclusion, and access to services.
  • Identify community needs and relay feedback to program teams.

Referral and Support

  • Identify individuals with protection needs and refer them to specialized internal or external services (e.g., legal aid, psychosocial support, medical care).
  • Help survivors of violence or abuse access confidential and appropriate support internal or external services.

Safe Spaces and Activities

  • Support the setup and management of child-friendly spaces or women’s centers.
  • Organize recreational or educational activities that promote psychosocial well-being.

 

Information Dissemination

  • Distribute flyers, brochures, or other Information educational and communication materials.
  • Help organize and promote events such as food distributions, or training sessions.
  • Draft social media posts to amplify intervention efforts (where applicable).

 

Support Services

  • Outreach and Identification of Newcomers in Hermel and surrounding areas.
  • Registration of project beneficiaries via mobile data collection.
  • Provide guidance to individuals on how to access available humanitarian services.
  • Help translate or interpret information for non-native speakers (if multilingual).

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Observe and document protection concerns such as gender-based violence (GBV), child protection issues, or discrimination.
  • Report incidents to appropriate protection staff or referral mechanisms.
  • Report challenges, risks, or urgent needs to supervisors.
  • Contribute to post-event evaluations and impact assessments.
