Services required from International Medical Corps to support assignment
Arrange for physical and/or online trainings and coordinate with trainer and accompany to field site, provide feedback, coordinate field visits and schedule follow up meetings for the different deliverables


1. BACKGROUND TO THE ASSIGNMENT:
Provide brief background to project and how it aligns to International Medical Corps objectives and priorities.
International Medical Corps is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people affected by conflict, disaster, and poverty worldwide. In Lebanon, there is a crucial need to address sexual and reproductive health issues among adolescents and youth. To effectively design interventions, research is required to understand the social behavior factors influencing these populations.
The purpose of this consultancy is to conduct a comprehensive research project focusing on social behaviour change related to sexual and reproductive health among adolescents and youth in Lebanon. The consultant is expected to continue collecting data for the KAP survey of the SRH SBC project and analyse baseline and endline surveys to issue the research manuscript. This consultant will need to be the same professor or academic institution, that was responsible for preparing research proposal and tools, literature review, and obtaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval.


2. PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Detail the purpose of the project
The purpose of this consultancy is to finalize the SRH SBC research project that started in 2024 by completing the remaining tasks requires to issue the final manuscript, needed for publishing.


3. SCOPE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The SRH SBC consultant will be responsible of the following:

- Support IMC field teams in obtaining physical, written consent from study participants across the five target regions (Beirut, Akkar, Tripoli, Bekaa, and South Lebanon).
- Conduct field visits to administer the baseline Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) survey, previously developed during the initial phase of the consultancy. Data should be collected in hard copy format.
- Analyse the data collected from the baseline KAP survey to identify key findings.
- Conduct the endline KAP survey with the same participants following the completion of Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) activities. Collect responses in written format.
- Analyse and compare endline data to the baseline findings to assess changes in knowledge, attitudes, and practices, including statistically significant differences.
- Facilitate , document and analyse focus group discussions with selected participants and key informant interviews with field research teams ,gathering qualitative insights.
- Compile all findings into a final research report and/or academic manuscript, summarizing both quantitative and qualitative results and providing recommendations

Consultant Specifications
To perform this consultancy successfully, an individual must be able to perform each task with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Demonstrated expertise in public health research, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health.
- Experience conducting literature reviews and developing research tools.
- Familiarity with ethical considerations and IRB processes related to research involving human subjects.
- Previous experience working in Lebanon or similar contexts is preferred.

3. Payment
Payments are delivery-based. Any deliverable not meeting the required specifications will have to be reworked and resubmitted at no additional cost.

Payments are made upon submission of progress reports on completed tasks, outlined against planned outputs. Based on the report and satisfactory performance, payments will be certified by the supervisor.

4. TITLE RIGHTS
International Medical Corps shall be entitled to all property rights including but not limited to patents, copyrights and trademarks with regard to material, which bears a direct relation to, or is made in consequence of, the services provided to the organization by the consultant.

5. INSURANCE
Consultants are fully responsible for arranging, at their own expense, such life, health and other forms of insurance covering their period of service on behalf of International Medical Corps as they consider appropriate. Consultants are not eligible to participate in life or health insurance schemes available to International Medical Corps employees
6.TAXATION
International Medical Corps undertake no liability for taxes, duty or other contributions payable by the consultant on payments under this contract.
7. TERMINATION OF CONTRACT
Either party may terminate this contract before the expiry date of the contract by giving notice in writing to the other party.
The period of notice shall be 5 days in case of contract less than 2 months duration and 30 days in the case of contracts for longer periods; provided however that the in the event of termination on the grounds of misconduct or the in the event of termination on the grounds of misconduct or poor performance by the consultant, International Medical Corps shall be entitled to terminate the contract without notice.
In the event of the contract being terminated prior to its due expiry date, the consultant shall be compensated pro rata for no more than the actual amount of work performed to the satisfaction of International Medical Corps.
