Temporary Field Supervisor

Duty Station: Field-based – Across Lebanon

Reports to: Senior Project Officer

 

Background

As part of our humanitarian response, IRL is implementing a series of emergency and seasonal projects to support vulnerable communities, including internally displaced persons and vulnerable across Lebanon. These include food security, hygiene, non-food item (NFI), and winterization project that aim to mitigate the harsh impact of the cold season on vulnerable households. In this context, IRL seeks to engage a Temporary Site Supervisor to support the Programme Team in field activities, including site assessments, phone calls, distributions, and on-ground coordination of all project activities during the implementation period from Nov 2025 – Jan 2026.

 

Objective of the Position

The objective is to provide field-level support to ensure the effective and timely implementation of project activities. The Field Supervisor will act as the liaison between the programme team and the beneficiaries at the field level, ensuring accountability, coordination, and smooth execution of activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Programme Team in conducting assessments, including identifying distribution locations, assessing needs, data entry, reviewing the list of beneficiaries and verifying beneficiary lists.
  • Participate in the distribution of assistance (food parcels, hygiene kits, NFI, etc.) ensuring fair, transparent, and orderly processes.
  • Liaise with local stakeholders, community leaders, and authorities to coordinate access and maintain community acceptance.
  • Monitor and report any challenges, incidents, or risks encountered during field activities.
  • Ensure that all humanitarian principles, safeguarding, and protection protocols are respected and implemented.
  • Provide distribution reports to the Programme Officer and ensure proper documentation as per IRL archiving guidelines (Activity Completion Report, signed distribution lists, Vouchers, etc.).
  • Participate in organizing and facilitating community meetings, focus group discussions, or feedback sessions as needed.
  • Be available and willing to work during emergency, weekends and official holidays, depending on activity schedules.

 

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

 

Education:

Bachelor degree with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian field.

 

Experience:

At least 2-3 years of proven experience working with International NGOs in emergency/humanitarian contexts.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging field conditions.
  • Good reporting and documentation skills.
  • Respect for diversity, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to humanitarian principles.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
