Occupational Therapist (Tyre Area)

  • Conduct evaluations of individuals with disabilities to identify their specific needs for occupational therapy.
  • Deliver direct therapy to individuals with disabilities to help develop their daily living skills.
  • Assess the need for home modifications for individuals with disabilities and establish tailored specifications.
  • Collaborate with local rehabilitation NGOs to create a referral system.
  • Support individuals with disabilities in engaging in social activities.
  • Evaluate the requirements for prosthetic devices for individuals with disabilities.
  • Assist in training community workers and caregivers to help them with daily tasks.
  • Assess the abilities of individuals with disabilities for vocational training and monitor their progress until training completion.
  • Oversee the execution of the occupational therapy plan within the project.
  • Supervise and train occupational therapy assistants in executing scheduled activities and tasks.
  • Maintain professional and efficient documentation, ensuring accountability.
  • Generate daily, weekly, monthly, and other periodic reports and statistics as needed.
  • Design, coordinate, and lead community awareness sessions for local leaders, families, and community members on disability inclusion, early intervention, and strategies to enhance participation in daily life.
  • Provide specialized training and technical guidance to rehabilitation staff (e.g., physiotherapy assistants, social workers), school personnel (e.g., kindergarten teachers, administrators), and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience
  • Experience working with children
  • Experience in an NGO setting is a plus
  • Proven experience in community settings or with a Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) model
  • Demonstrated skills in supervision, training, and report writing
  • Experience working with diverse age groups, as "persons with disabilities" encompasses a lifespan approach, although children are the primary focus
