Job Purpose :

Work to strengthen Basmeh & Zeitooneh’s gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response programs. Provide psychosocial support (PSS) to GBV survivors, identify their needs, and ensure safe and confidential referrals to appropriate case management or specialized services. Organize and facilitate awareness-raising sessions on GBV prevention and response, engage with community members to promote gender equality, and support outreach volunteers in implementing field activities to expand the program’s reach and impact.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate structured and non-structured PSS sessions for women and adolescent girls based on approved curricula (e.g., Women Rise, Mindful Presence, or GBV/PSS toolkits).
  • Conduct individual supportive sessions to identify and respond to psychosocial needs, ensuring appropriate internal and external referrals.
  • Organize and lead awareness and life skills sessions on GBV prevention, self-care, mental health, positive parenting, gender equality, and related topics.
  • Support women’s leadership within activities, and the establishment and regular meetings of women’s committees within the WGSS to strengthen women’s leadership and participation.
  • Maintain the WGSS environment as safe, inclusive, and confidential, applying survivor-centered approaches at all times.
  • Plan and facilitate community-based and outreach activities to increase access and visibility of the WGSS, including mobile sessions when needed.
  • Coordinate and refer identified GBV or protection cases to the appropriate internal GBV Case Worker (when available under another project) or to external specialized services following the established referral pathway according to interagency referrals SOPs.Ensure timely, safe, and confidential referrals to specialized services (health, legal, case management, and protection).
  • Contribute to service mapping and update referral pathways regularly in coordination with the Protection and GBV Coordinators.
  • Participate in inter-agency coordination meetings, technical trainings, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Use approved attendance sheets, session evaluation forms, and feedback tools to document all activities accurately.
  • Submit weekly and monthly reports on PSS sessions, awareness activities, and outreach coverage to the Protection Coordinator.
  • Track and report beneficiary numbers and trends, ensuring disaggregated data (age, nationality, vulnerability, etc.).
  • Report immediately any safeguarding concerns, incidents, or violations to the Protection Coordinator following B&Z’s reporting protocols.
  • Build trust and engagement with women and girls in the community through respectful, empathetic, and inclusive communication.
  • Conduct regular feedback discussions with participants to inform continuous program improvement.
  • Participates in regular supervision and staff care activities
  • Undertake any additional programmatic tasks as assigned by the Protection Coordinator or Project Coordinator.

  • Achieving the required number of sessions and participants while ensuring the quality of work.
  • Maintaining confidentiality, dignity, and psychological safety for participants.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of all activities.
  • Creating positive communication with the team and the community.

Education & Experience :

  • University degree in Sociology or Psychology
  • Work experience of not less than two years in the field of psychosocial support
  • Experience working with women and girls in humanitarian or community settings, preferably within Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS).
  • Participate in training courses and workshops on protection (child labor, domestic violence and SGBV, etc …)

  • Fluency in the Arabic language, and finding English speaking and writing at the beginner level.
