School superintendent

General Goal: The school superintendent ensures the smooth daily operation of classes by supervising students, enforcing discipline, and supporting teaching and learning activities. Acts as a bridge between students, teachers, and school administration to foster positive behavior, attendance, and engagement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students’ arrival, departure, during classes, break times, lunch periods to ensure safety and order.
  • Monitor student behavior and apply school discipline policies fairly and consistently.
  • Maintain a calm and respectful classroom environment that encourages learning and cooperation.
  • Manage classroom attendance by recording absences and lateness accurately and reporting patterns to the Principal or Coordinator.
  • Ensure that students remain on task and follow the teacher’s or school’s instructions in the teacher’s absence.
  • Assist with crowd control during assemblies, examinations, field trips, and school events.
  • Monitor and report incidents of misbehavior, bullying, or conflict to the relevant authority.
  • Apply positive behavior management techniques to promote respect, responsibility, and cooperation.
  • Support implementation of the school’s code of conduct and disciplinary procedures.
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating professional and ethical behavior at all times.
  • Ensure student safety inside the classroom, playground, corridors, and other school areas.
  • Identify and report safety risks or hazards immediately to the administration.
  • Respond appropriately to student injuries or emergencies according to school safety procedures.
  • Promote hygiene, health, and cleanliness standards among students.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, student progress, and incidents.
  • Communicate regularly with administrative assistant, teachers and parents about student performance, discipline issues, and needs for additional support.
  • Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions as required.
  • Assist in organizing classroom displays, bulletin boards, and learning materials.
  • Support the coordination of school events, extracurricular activities, and student supervision schedules.
  • And any other related duties.

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Personal Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in student supervision, teaching assistance, or educational support roles.
  • Understanding of classroom management principles and student behavior strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both students and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks calmly and efficiently in a busy school environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, Google Workspace, etc.).
  • Patience, empathy, and respect for children of diverse backgrounds.
  • High level of responsibility, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
