Two Vacancies for PSS Facilitators in Naher Al Bared Camp

I) About Developmental Action without Borders, Naba'a:

Developmental Action without Borders - Naba’a, is a Lebanese NGO operational since 2001. Registered under the Ministry of Interior (no. 104/AD), Naba’a is dedicated to serving all marginalized communities in Lebanon, especially children, without distinction of nationality, color, race, or religion. This includes communities within camps and gatherings in Lebanon, as well as local Lebanese communities.

II) Nabaa's Employment Screening and Protection Protocol: 

Developmental Action without Borders, Naba’a, does not employ individuals who are married to children (persons under 18). Naba’a enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority, and discrimination. All prospective candidates must undergo thorough reference and background checks which will mainly verify employment history, professional performance, and adherence to the aforementioned policies. Furthermore, the selected candidates must provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening or an equivalent criminal record check as a condition of employment.

III) The PSS Facilitators will Carry out the Following Deliverables;

1. Preparation and Documentation

  • Handle and maintain the required personal profiles and documentation of children.
  • Prepare daily session plans, attendance sheets, and activity reports.
  • Ensure timely submission of all required forms and documentation.

2. Assess Children’s Psychosocial Needs

  • Conduct individualized assessments to identify each child’s psychosocial needs.
  • Document findings and use them to develop tailored support plans.

3. Design and Plan PSS Sessions

  • Develop customized PSS plans based on assessed needs and age groups.
  • Create interactive, engaging, and age-appropriate activities promoting psychosocial well-being.
  • Integrate life skills, positive coping strategies, and social-emotional learning elements.

4. Implement PSS Activities

  • Facilitate structured PSS sessions using the approved curriculum and methodologies through play-based and participatory approaches, such as storytelling, songs, role play, and games, to support wellbeing alongside learning.
  • Foster participation and inclusion through interactive and creative approaches.
  • Promote emotional expression, teamwork, and resilience-building among children.

5. Monitor and Evaluate Progress

  • Track and assess children’s behavioral and emotional progress regularly.
  • Adjust activities and approaches based on monitoring results.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of each child’s development and participation.

6. Foster a Supportive and Protective Environment

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children to enhance their self-esteem and confidence.
  • Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe, inclusive, and non-discriminatory environment.
  • Encourage children to express themselves freely and seek support when needed.

7. Collaboration and Coordination

  • Coordinate with education and protection teams to ensure a holistic approach to child well-being.
  • Share progress updates, challenges, and recommendations during team meetings.
  • Participate in parent meetings to discuss children’s psychosocial development and behavioral progress.

8. Safety, Protection, and Ethical Conduct

  • Fully comply with Nabaa’s protection and safeguarding policies, including:
  • Child Protection Policy, PSEAH Policy, Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption Policy, Code of Conduct and Complaint Mechanism
  • Immediately refer any identified child protection concerns or risks to the Caseworker or relevant staff.
  • Ensure children’s physical and emotional safety at all times.

III. Qualifications and Competencies

1. Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field.

2. Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in delivering psychosocial support services, preferably within humanitarian or educational contexts.
  • Prior experience applying play-based, participatory, or SEL-based facilitation methods is an asset.

3. Competencies / Soft Skills (as needed for performing the selected deliverables)

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Leadership and facilitation skills.
  • Creativity and innovation in developing child-friendly activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

4. Competencies / Technical Skills (as needed for performing the selected deliverables)

  • Strong understanding of PSS principles, methodologies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Knowledge of child rights, child protection standards, and safeguarding protocols.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Skilled in session planning, report writing, and documentation.
  • Understanding of SEL principles and techniques to help children manage their emotions effectively.
