I. About LADE

The Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization committed to promoting electoral integrity and fair representation as essential pillars of a functional democracy. Since its establishment in 1996, LADE has been at the forefront of electoral reform in Lebanon through a comprehensive approach that includes election monitoring, evidence-based advocacy, and citizen engagement. LADE’s work covers all stages of the electoral process—pre-election, election-day, and post-election—while addressing issues such as media ethics, gender inclusion, accessibility, and civic participation. The organization continues to serve as a leading voice for democratic governance and accountability in Lebanon.

 

II. Job Purpose

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of LADE’s project funded by the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), ensuring timely delivery of activities in line with donor requirements and organizational priorities. The position requires strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage a team, maintain quality control, and ensure that all activities are implemented effectively, efficiently, and within budget.

 

III. Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Project Management and Planning

  • Lead the development of detailed project work plans, timelines, and budgets in coordination with the program team.
  • Ensure project activities are implemented according to the approved proposal, donor guidelines, and LADE’s internal policies.
  • Supervise and guide the project team (including coordinators, assistants, and consultants) to ensure effective task distribution and delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and propose corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure the integration of gender, inclusion, and accessibility considerations in project design and implementation.

2. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Oversee data collection, documentation, and reporting processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare high-quality narrative and progress reports in coordination with the M&E officer and relevant staff.
  • Track performance indicators and outputs, ensuring compliance with donor reporting requirements.

3. Coordination and Communication

  • Maintain regular communication with project partners, stakeholders, and donors as needed.
  • Represent LADE in project-related meetings, workshops, or coordination platforms.
  • Ensure smooth information flow and collaboration between project staff, LADE departments, and external actors.
  • Support visibility and communication efforts related to project activities.

4. Financial Oversight and Resource Management

  • Collaborate with the finance and procurement teams to monitor budget implementation and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Review financial reports and expenditure tracking to ensure alignment with planned activities.
  • Ensure compliance with donor and LADE financial and administrative procedures.

5. Other Tasks

  • Contribute to proposal writing and project design for future initiatives.
  • Support LADE’s broader strategic objectives and organizational development when requested.

 

IV. Qualifications and Experience

1. Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, International Relations, Law, Development Studies, or a related field.

2. Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 2 years in a project management or supervisory role, preferably in NGOs or international organizations.
  • Proven experience in project implementation, donor reporting, and coordination.
  • Experience managing teams and overseeing project budgets.
  • Familiarity with elections, governance, or civic engagement programs is highly desirable.

3. Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic (essential).
  • Strong writing and reporting skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and analytical documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing contexts.
  • Commitment to LADE’s mission, values, and principles of integrity, transparency, and impartiality.
