GBV Case Worker

Position Summary

The GBV Case Worker will provide survivor-centered case management and psychosocial support to women, girls and LGBTIQ+ individuals affected by gender-based violence, in line with national and international standards. The role involves identifying at-risk individuals, developing and implementing action plans, coordinating referrals, and ensuring access to safe, confidential, and holistic services.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management and Direct Support

  • Provide individualized GBV case management services including assessment, action planning, referral, follow-up, and case closure, in line with the National GBV SOPs and guiding principles (confidentiality, safety, respect, and non-discrimination).
  • Deliver tailored psychosocial support sessions to survivors and women at risk in safe spaces or during outreach activities.
  • Conduct home visits and identify vulnerable women and girls through internal and external referrals.
  • Ensure that case files and data are accurately documented, safely stored, and handled confidentially in compliance with data protection standards.
  • Flag high-risk or urgent cases requiring legal, medical, or specialized intervention to the Case Management Supervisor immediately.
  • Participate in regular case reviews and ensure all interventions are guided by the survivor’s best interest and informed consent.
  • Accompany survivors to external service providers (health, legal aid, MHPSS, etc.) when necessary.

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Case Management Supervisor, Psychotherapist, and Field Coordinator to ensure a coordinated, survivor-centered response.
  • Maintain updated service mapping of GBV and protection actors in the area of operation.
  • Contribute to strengthening referral pathways and report any service gaps or challenges to the supervisor or program coordinator.
  • Attend internal meetings, trainings, and inter-agency coordination events as required.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Compliance

  • Use relevant monitoring and evaluation tools for all GBV project activities and ensure quality implementation.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to the principles and guidance of the National GBV SOPs, including mandatory reporting procedures and inter-agency standards.

Capacity Building and Other Duties

  • Participate in regular supervision, coaching, and capacity-building activities.
  • Complete all required online and in-person training courses.
  • Support other team members when needed and maintain positive, collaborative relationships within the team.
  • Perform other relevant duties as requested by the Case Management Supervisor or Project Coordinator.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in GBV case management within NGOs or humanitarian settings.
  • Strong knowledge of GBV core concepts, case management standards, and psychosocial support approaches in humanitarian contexts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
