Placement Officer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Apprenticeship Mapping and Planning

  • Identify and maintain a database of local businesses, cooperatives, and enterprises willing to host apprentices.
  • Assess host capacity, sector relevance, and learning potential for each apprenticeship provider.
  • Develop structured apprenticeship plans with clear roles, durations, and expected learning outcomes.

2. Placement and Matching

  • Coordinate with MAPs vocational training unit and job counselor to identify ready-to-work graduates.
  • Match graduates with appropriate host institutions based on skills, interests, and business needs.
  • Prioritize inclusive placements for women, youth, and persons with disabilities.

3. Monitoring and Support

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor apprentices’ progress and satisfaction.
  • Ensure apprentices are acquiring relevant technical and soft skills in line with their training.
  • Provide on-demand support to resolve issues between apprentices and host organizations.
  • Ensure all apprentices receive feedback, supervision, and a safe working environment.

4. Employer Engagement and Coordination

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, SMEs, and industry associations.
  • Gather feedback from employers to inform training curriculum adaptation.
  • Explore opportunities for full-time hiring post-apprenticeship.

5. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of all placements, including agreements, attendance, and feedback.
  • Contribute to monthly project reports and success stories for donor reporting.
  • Support data collection for evaluations and impact assessments.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in job placement, employer engagement, livelihoods, or apprenticeship programming.
• Proven knowledge of the labor market and private sector landscape in Lebanon.
• Ability to communicate and build trust with youth, women, employers, and local stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in Arabic and in English.
• Proficiency in MS Office and digital documentation systems.
