Security Officer

Position Summary:

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of personnel, premises, and assets. This includes monitoring access control, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and enforcing organizational security procedures. Security Officers serve as the first line of defense in deterring potential threats and ensuring a safe environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Access Control & Surveillance
  • Monitor entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Patrolling & Incident Response
  • Conduct routine patrols of the premises, including buildings, perimeters, and restricted areas.
  • Respond to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies promptly and appropriately.
  • Escort individuals as needed to ensure safety.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
  • Prepare incident reports and escalate issues to supervisors or law enforcement when necessary.

Enforcement & Compliance

  • Enforce company security policies and safety procedures.
  • Assist in fire drills, evacuations, and emergency response activities.
  • Report hazards or maintenance issues identified during patrols.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or security certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a security or law enforcement role.
  • License: Valid security license (if required by local laws); First Aid or CPR certification is a plus.

  • Clear communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Integrity, reliability, and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies effectively.
