2. Background
Under the Active Citizenship Lab (ACL), MDSF seeks to strengthen civic leadership, social cohesion, and inclusive governance among Lebanese and Syrian youth in the Bekaa region. The program integrates a conflict resolution component that equips youth with the tools and knowledge to understand, analyze, and manage conflict constructively in their communities. This module also supports participants in developing empathy, dialogue skills, and conflict-sensitive approaches to civic engagement and community initiatives.
3. Objective
The objective of this assignment is to train 20 Lebanese and Syrian youth in civic engagement, conflict analysis, management, and resolution skills. The trainer will help participants build civic awareness, leadership capacities, dialogue facilitation, empathy, negotiation, and do-no-harm principles. The training aims to ensure that participants’ civic actions and community initiatives are inclusive, conflict-sensitive, and contribute to social cohesion, local governance participation, and peaceful collaboration within their communities.
4. Scope of Work
Key responsibilities include:
Design and deliver a 4-day interactive training module on civic engagement, conflict analysis, sensitivity, and management.
Introduce key topics such as civic participation, rights and responsibilities, community mobilization, conflict mapping, stakeholder analysis, and communication techniques.
Facilitate exercises and simulations to strengthen participants’ skills in civic dialogue, mediation, negotiation, and problem-solving.
Integrate lessons on empathy, dialogue, and peacebuilding within civic engagement contexts.
Provide mentorship to youth teams as they apply conflict-sensitive and civically engaged approaches in their community initiatives.
Submit a comprehensive training and evaluation report with recommendations.
5. Deliverables
The trainer/service provider is expected to deliver the following:
20 youth trained in conflict resolution and analysis.
Increased youth awareness of conflict dynamics and collaborative approaches.
Detailed training agenda, module, and supporting materials (PowerPoint, handouts, exercises).
Pre- and post-training assessments of participants’ learning.
Practical simulation and group activity documentation.
Final summary report with recommendations for ongoing youth engagement in civic engagement & conflict-sensitive initiatives.
6. Duration of Assignment
Total Duration: Up to 4.5 working days
4 days for training delivery
½-day for preparation, for reporting and documentation
Implementation Period: Month 1 of ACL program / Mid November 2025 - Mid December 2025
7. Qualifications
The selected trainer or training organization must meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in peacebuilding, conflict studies, psychology, or related social sciences.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in peace education, conflict management, or social cohesion training.
Proven record of facilitating participatory training with youth or refugee populations.
Strong knowledge of conflict sensitivity and do-no-harm frameworks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual (Arabic and English).
8. Location
Ferzol, Zahle, Bekaa (Michel Daher Social Foundation building).
9. Reporting and supervision
The trainer will report directly to the MDSF focal point. Coordination and logistical support will be provided by the MDSF project team.
10. Payment Terms
Payment will be made via bank transfer as follows:
50 upon completion of 1st 2 training sessions a.
50% upon completion of the remaining 2 sessions and submission and approval of the final report.
Note: Without a valid MOF certificate, a 3.4% tax on goods and 8.5% on services will apply.

15. Evaluation of Proposals
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
Technical proposal (30%)
Financial proposal (35%)
Experience in IT training (25%)
Availability and alignment with proposed schedule (10%)
16. Penalties for Delay
A penalty of 1% of the total contract value per day of delay shall apply for late delivery or failure to perform within the agreed schedule, up to a maximum of 10% of the total contract value. The Foundation reserves the right to terminate the contract if the delay exceeds 10 days.
