Job Summary
- Scope of Work
The teacher/facilitator will plan, prepare, and deliver YFS sessions in alignment with the certified curriculum, while ensuring a safe, child-friendly, and inclusive learning environment for all learners. They will actively participate in all required trainings, coaching sessions, and technical support activities to maintain high instructional quality. The teacher/facilitator is also expected to work according to the center’s assigned schedule, whether in the morning or afternoon shift, as determined by program needs.
- Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Facilitate YFS sessions using participatory and youth-centered methods.
- Use role plays, group work, discussions, and practical exercises.
- Promote soft skills, emotional regulation, and leadership.
- Create an inclusive and respectful safe space.
- Support youth in exploring pathways to education and livelihoods.
- Apply pre- and post-learning tools.
- Track attendance and participation quality.
- Create a respectful, motivating, youth-friendly environment.
- Participate in training and coaching.
- Coordinate referrals with outreach staff if needed.
- Document and report learning outcomes to the Center Supervisor.
- Promote positive discipline and emotional safety.
- Integrate SEL and PSS activities into sessions.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and coordination activities.
- Adhere to SHiFT’s Child Protection & PSEA policies.
- Immediately report child protection concerns.
- Support distributions and events.
- Any additional tasks requested by the supervisor.
- Qualifications
Education:
- Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related field.
Experience:
- Experience working with youth or delivering life skills training.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and creativity.
