About Peace Labs
Peace Labs is a Lebanese peacebuilding organization established in 2012 and dedicated to strengthening social cohesion, dialogue, and inclusive participation across Lebanon. Through reflective peace practice, women-led engagement, and community-centered methodologies, Peace Labs supports local actors in becoming agents of transformation within their communities.
The organization is implementing a new two-year project targeting 150 women and 5 women-led CSOs across Baalbek–Hermel. The project strengthens women’s economic resilience, leadership and participation skills, and their role in fostering social cohesion across host, displaced, and refugee communities.
Summary of Position
The Project Manager (PM) will lead the full implementation of the project and ensure that all activities across livelihoods, leadership, peacebuilding, and CSO capacity strengthening are planned, delivered, and monitored to the highest quality standards.
The PM will oversee a multidisciplinary team, coordinate closely with local stakeholders and women-led CSOs, and serve as the primary focal point for day-to-day donor communication and reporting.
The PM will ensure high operational standards across all components and will proactively identify risks, opportunities, and adaptive solutions to ensure the project’s success. Given the project’s location, priority is given to candidates living in or near Zahleh/Baalbek–Hermel with strong familiarity with the local context.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Coordination
- Lead the development and execution of detailed workplans, activity schedules, and implementation strategies.
- Ensure that activities are aligned with project objectives, donor requirements, and Peace Labs’ methodological standards.
- Coordinate with trainers, consultants, CSOs, and specialists to ensure coherent planning and timely delivery.
- Oversee procurement planning and logistical arrangements for all field activities.
- Field Implementation & Activity Management
- Supervise all field activities across women’s economic empowerment, leadership development, dialogue circles, and CSO capacity strengthening.
- Ensure quality, inclusiveness, and conflict-sensitive delivery of workshops, trainings, and community initiatives.
- Support outreach, selection, and enrollment of participants, ensuring transparent and accountable processes.
- Monitor attendance, engagement, and progress of women participants throughout the project.
- Troubleshoot implementation challenges and adjust plans as needed.
- Team Leadership & Internal Coordination
- Provide day-to-day leadership, task delegation, and performance oversight for the Field Coordinator, MEAL Specialist (for implementation-related tasks), and thematic consultants and specialists.
- Facilitate weekly internal coordination meetings and ensure strong communication within the team.
- Support the MEAL Specialist and Field Coordinator in data collection, community outreach, and tracking of field activities.
- Contribute to staff performance monitoring and capacity building where needed.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with local women-led CSOs, municipalities, connectors, community actors, and service providers.
- Represent Peace Labs in coordination meetings, consultations, and engagement with UN Women/WPHF.
- Support the establishment and strengthening of institutional linkages that contribute to project sustainability.
- Ensure stakeholder engagement is inclusive, conflict-sensitive, and compliant with Do-No-Harm principles.
- Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Ensure proper documentation of all activities, including attendance, photos, minutes, and qualitative observations.
- Provide accurate and timely inputs to the MEAL Specialist for indicator tracking and database maintenance.
- Lead the preparation of monthly progress updates, narrative reports, donor-required submissions, and final reporting.
- Risk Management, Safeguarding & Do-No-Harm
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks related to social tensions, mobility, safety, community dynamics, or participant wellbeing.
- Ensure safe identification and referral pathways for GBV/MHPSS are active and functioning.
- Guarantee that all activities uphold Peace Labs’ safeguarding policy, gender sensitivity, and conflict-sensitive approaches.
- Administrative, Financial & Compliance Oversight
- Coordinate with finance and administration teams to ensure expenditures match planned activities.
- Monitor activity budgets, spending forecasts, and procurement needs.
- Ensure compliance with UN Women/WPHF requirements, including proper documentation, filing, and archiving.
- Contribute to audit preparation and donor compliance reviews when applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies, peacebuilding, gender studies, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing multi-component projects in peacebuilding, social cohesion, gender, livelihoods, or similar.
- Strong experience working with UN agencies or INGOs. Experience with WPHF, UN Women, or donor-funded gender/peacebuilding programming preferred.
- Proven experience managing field teams and complex implementation cycles.
- Demonstrated experience working with women, displaced populations, and/or conflict-affected communities.
- Strong understanding of conflict analysis, Do-No-Harm, and community-based approaches. Experience in participatory methodologies (PAR, reflective practice, connectors/dividers) preferred.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Residence in Zahleh, Baalbek, Hermel, or nearby area preferred.
- Fluency in Arabic; advanced proficiency in English (verbal communication skills, writing/reporting).

Place of Assignment
The PM will be based in the project’s main office in Zahleh and will be expected to travel regularly to target communities.
Reporting
The PM will report directly to the Executive Director at Peace Labs.
