Reports To : Agriculture Project Manager

Job Purpose :

Under the supervision of the Agriculture project manager, the Agriculture Field Officer is responsible for the daily technical execution, supervision, monitoring and reporting of the field activities (Awareness sessions, distribution of agriculture equipment, organizing cash payments to farmers) and for ensuring proper coordination with stakeholders, municipalities, other authorities, participants and related B&Z departments, as well as for supporting the food security and livelihoods activities and the general humanitarian effort of the organization. The position requires extensive field work and movement in Akkar governorate northern Lebanon.

Job Responsibilties:

• Actively engage with the MoA for participant outreach and ensure the appropriate selection of target population and implementation of the project under the guidance the project manager.
• Support in designing appropriate training methods and materials to be provided to project participants as part of the awareness sessions.
• Ensure implementation of project deliverables with the project team as per project design (assessments, target selection, distribution of agricultural inputs (equipment and other material etc.)
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (Farmers, Technical consultants, partners, Cooperatives, Municipalities) to ensure appropriate programming strategies are developed and refined for the target population.
• Visit target communities on a regular basis to discuss with farmers their problems and experiences and learn about communities.
• Conduct site visits, focus group discussions and key informant interviews upon request
• Support in the briefing and induction sessions
• File, document, and report work progress to his/her line manager on weekly basis
• Monitor the conformity of the field works with the standards of B&Z, and as per the agreed activity planned, BoQs and contracts.

KPIs:

• Percentage of selected participants meeting the project’s specific vulnerability and eligibility criteria verification and validation of data sent by MoA
• Monthly progress report shared with the project manager highlighting Activity Execution Percentage of planned field activities (awareness sessions, distributions) completed vs. monthly plan.
• Supporting the MEAL team with Post distribution monitoring for field visits, collecting photos from recipients etc.

Education & Experience :

• Agricultural Sciences (preferably Agronomy, Agriculture Engineering and/or Agriculture Marketing).
• Previous experience: two-year experience working in agriculture sector (farmer’s organizations, small scale farmers, crop production and improvement)
• Experience in humanitarian and development organizations is desirable
• Knowledge of MS Office
