Finance Officer

The Finance Officer will be responsible for the following:

Financial Management & Compliance

  • Manage and monitor project budgets in accordance with the EU Grant Agreement and approved financial plans.
  • Ensure full compliance with EU financial rules, eligibility of costs, procurement procedures, and supporting documentation requirements.
  • Monitor expenditures against approved budgets and flag variances or risks in a timely manner.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports in line with EU reporting templates and deadlines.
  • Maintain complete financial documentation (invoices, contracts, timesheets, payment proofs) for verification and audits.
  • Support the Programme Manager in financial forecasting and budget revisions, when required.

Consortium Coordination

  • Coordinate with finance focal points of consortium partners to consolidate financial data.
  • Support joint financial reporting and ensure harmonized application of EU financial rules across partners.

Procurement, Payments & Controls

  • Review procurement and payment requests to ensure compliance with EU and internal procedures.
  • Maintain proper filing systems for financial and procurement records.
  • Contribute to strengthening internal financial controls and risk mitigation measures.

Audit & Accountability

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit queries.
  • Ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to safeguarding and ethical standards in all financial operations.
