Under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Officer, the Psychosocial Support (PSS) Officer is responsible for the design, implementation, supervision, and quality assurance of focused psychosocial support interventions targeting Persons with Specific Needs. The PSS Officer provides technical oversight to IOCC case workers delivering structured PSS interventions and ensures that activities are evidence-based, inclusive, accessible and aligned with national and international MHPSS standards.
Responsibilities and Essential FunctionsThe PSS Officer will provide technical support in the implementation of focused psychosocial support activities and ensure the quality and effectiveness of PSS services provided to PWSN who have experienced violence, neglect, exploitation, or abuse. He/She works closely with case workers, social workers, and relevant stakeholders to ensure coordinated, ethical, and needs-based PSS service.
- Lead the development, adaptation, and regular revision of a structured PSS curriculum based on the aligned with national and international MHPSS standards, tailored specifically to the needs of Persons with Specific Needs, including persons with disabilities and older persons.
- Provide technical supervision and guidance to IOCC case workers delivering structured PSS interventions, ensuring adherence to the approved curriculum, tools, and National SOPs.
- Offer personalized parenting guidance and tailored support to caregivers of children with specific needs, responding to the specific psychosocial and caregiving challenges identified.
- Ensure the implementation of the comprehensive approach by coordinating internally with different departments and components.
- Ensure timely reporting of the activities and data to the Senior Project Officer.
- Ensure adequate reporting on RAIS and other needed reporting tools.
- Ensure timely follow up, monitoring and review (weekly, monthly).
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
- Language skills: Fluent in Arabic and good command of English (speaking, reading, writing)
- Contextual awareness
- Highly empathic in dealing with beneficiaries
- Computer skills: good command of Word and Excel
- Excellent knowledge of psychosocial support principles, the IASC MHPSS Guidelines, and the MHPSS pyramid
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening
- Teamwork
- Good organizational skills
Experience:
- At least 3 years’ work experience
- Previous experience in NGO, and humanitarian field is an advantage
- Proven experience in focused PSS interventions particularly with PWSN
- Previous experience providing technical supervision or capacity building is an asset

- To be based in the CDCs in North and Akkar with field visits.
