Qualifications

  • University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field 

Professional experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a comparable position 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Basic understanding of communication strategies and digital media platforms 
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to take feedback and learn from team members 
  • Proficiency in common office and communication tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, content management systems, social media platforms) 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support communication needs 
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English, French and German are an asset

  1. Responsibilities

Support the Portfolio Management Unit (PFMU) of the GIZ Country Office Lebanon in internal and external communication activities, including drafting and editing communication materials, supporting campaigns, and assisting with coordination tasks, while contributing to the strengthening of partnerships in a complex and dynamic context.

 

  1. Tasks 
  • Draft, edit, and proofread communication materials such as press releases, newsletters, website content, social media posts, and internal announcements 
  • Support the Communication Expert in coordinating communication campaigns and projects 
  • Conduct research and gather information to support communication initiatives 
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, social media engagement, and key communication performance metrics.
  • Assist in the organization of corporate, internal, and external events.  
  • Assist with event communication, presentations, and promotional materials 
  • Perform administrative and coordination tasks related to communication activities 

 

Social media   

  • Assist in creating and scheduling content for social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook) 
  • Help maintain a content calendar and ensure timely posting 
  • Monitor social media channels, comments, and messages, escalating issues when needed 
  • Support basic community engagement and audience interaction 
  • Track social media performance and engagement metrics 
  • Stay informed about social media trends and best practices 

 

Content Creation & Storytelling 

  • Support storytelling initiatives and content campaigns 
  • Assist with interviews and content gathering  
  • Draft success stories and feature articles 
  • Support visual storytelling (infographics, short videos, presentations) 
  • Support taking pictures  
  • Support in covering photography and videography in events  

 

Public Relations (PR) 

  • Support the drafting of press releases, media pitches, and briefing materials 
  • Assist in maintaining media contact lists and press databases 
  • Monitor media coverage and compile press clippings and reports 
  • Help coordinate PR activities such as press events, interviews, and announcements 
  • Conduct background research to support PR campaigns and storytelling 
  • Ensure messaging aligns with organizational positioning and reputation goals 

Internal Communications 

  • Assist in drafting internal communications such as emails, intranet content, announcements, and presentations, briefing notes, as well as speaking points 
  • Support communication related to organizational updates, projects, and events 
  • Help ensure clarity, consistency, and tone appropriate for internal audiences 
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership teams on employee-focused communication initiatives 
  • Support internal campaigns that promote engagement, culture, and information flow 

 

Additional tasks  

  • Assist in briefing designers, photographers, or freelancers 
  • Support leadership communication preparation (talking points, slides) 
  • Support coordination with external partners 
  • Ensure compliance with communication guidelines and policies

Further ad-hoc tasks might be assigned by the manager.
