Responsibilities
- Beneficiary Selection and Monitoring
- Collaborate with the technical team to ensure transparency and fairness in beneficiary selection processes.
- Site Visits and Progress Evaluation
- Conduct regular site visits during outreach and implementation phases to monitor progress.
- Verify the quality and effectiveness of activities, including:
- Installation of drip irrigation systems.
- Conducting training sessions.
- Establishment of water ponds.
- Cash-for-work activities.
- Rehabilitation of water channels.
- Supporting women's food processing groups.
- Oversight of Implementation Activities
- Work with field officers and engineers to manage irrigation network installations, rehabilitation of water channels, and improvements to home gardens.
- Monitor garden conditions post-implementation and provide necessary support to garden owners.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and submit comprehensive reports (e.g., weekly updates, field visit summaries, meeting minutes) to document project successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Data Entry and Support for MEAL Department
- Perform data entry and cleaning to ensure accurate records.
- Provide support to the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) department whenever needed.
- Participation in Planning Meetings
- Attend weekly meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and required adjustments.
- Training and Capacity Building
- Assist in organizing and facilitating:
- Water management , Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Food processing and business training sessions.
- Technical and Team Support
- Collaborate closely with the technical team to support project activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in the final year of a diploma program or a recent graduate in agriculture, water resources management, or related fields.
- Strong interest and foundational knowledge in water management and climate change.
- Background in plant and/or animal production is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in data collection and analysis is a plus.
- Strong command of English (speaking, reading, and writing).
