AI Trainer – Youth Capacity Building

Objective of the Assignment

The overall objective of the assignment is to design and deliver introductory, youth-friendly AI training sessions that:

  • Introduce core AI concepts in a simple and practical manner
  • Build basic skills in using AI tools safely and responsibly
  • Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking
  • Raise awareness on AI ethics, digital safety, and future opportunities

 

3. Scope of Work

The trainer will be responsible for the following tasks:

A. Training Design

  • Develop a practical and age-appropriate training curriculum for youth (15–20 years)
  • Prepare training materials, presentations, and simple hands-on exercises
  • Adapt content to the local context and available equipment

B. Training Delivery

  • Deliver two AI training cycles, one per project/location
  • Each training cycle consists of:
    • 3 days
    • 3 hours per day
    • Total: 9 hours per training
  • Use participatory and interactive methodologies (demonstrations, group work, discussions)

C. Key Training Topics

  • Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (what AI is and how it works)
  • Everyday uses of AI (education, design, writing, problem-solving)
  • Hands-on practice with simple AI tools
  • Ethics, privacy, and responsible use of AI
  • AI and future skills / employability pathways

D. Reporting

  • Submit a brief completion report including:
    • Number of participants disaggregated by gender
    • Summary of sessions delivered
    • Key observations and recommendations

 

4. Target Group

  • Youth aged 17–25 years
  • Mixed gender groups
  • Basic computer literacy is preferred but not mandatory

 

5. Duration and Location

  • Total duration:
    • 2 training cycles × 9 hours each = 18 training hours
  • Training schedule:
    • Each cycle delivered over 3 consecutive or non-consecutive days
  • Locations:
    • Ein helwi camp
    • Rashedeyye camp

 

6. Deliverables

  1. Training agenda and session plan
  2. Training materials (presentations and exercises)
  3. Delivery of two complete training cycles
  4. Final short narrative report

7. Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in AI, digital skills, or technology-related training
  • Previous experience working with youth or community-based programs
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills
  • Ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Commitment to ethical and responsible technology use
