MEAL Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Monitoring & Data Collection

• Support routine monitoring activities in the field (PDM, baseline/endline surveys, KAP surveys, satisfaction surveys, spot checks, etc.)
• Administer data collection tools using paper-based forms or digital platforms (e.g., Kobo, MS Forms)
• Conduct Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and household interviews.
• Ensure accurate data entry, labeling, and filing of MEAL documentation.

Data Management & Quality Assurance

• Enter and clean data on Excel or dedicated MEAL systems.
• Verify completeness and consistency of data collected.
• Support data triangulation and validation processes.
• Maintain organized databases and storage of MEAL information.

Accountability & Feedback Mechanisms

• Assist in operating the Feedback, Complaints & Response Mechanism (FCRM) including hotline calls, complaint boxes, WhatsApp messaging, help desks, etc.
• Record feedback confidentially and ensure proper referral and closure of sensitive and non-sensitive cases.
• Support community sensitization on available complaints and feedback channels.

Reporting & Learning

• Share emerging field findings with MEAL Officer and program teams to support adaptive management.
• Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories when needed.

Coordination & Compliance

• Coordinate with field staff, partners, enumerators, and community volunteers during MEAL data collection.
• Ensure MEAL procedures comply with internal MEAL guidelines, donor requirements, and protection standards (Do No Harm, PSEA, Safeguarding, Confidentiality).

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Familiarity with digital data collection platforms (KoboToolbox, MS Forms).
• Understanding of MEAL methodologies (surveys, sampling, FGD, KII).
• Basic understanding of accountability, PSEA, and safeguarding principles is an advantage.
• Data visualization tools (PowerBI/Tableau) is a plus.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
