A. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Field & Care Officer is a core member of the Mobile Mental Health Clinic (MMHC), a mobile service providing mental health consultations across various regions of Lebanon. This role plays a central part in ensuring both the effective delivery of MMHC field visits and the continuity of care for beneficiaries beyond the mobile clinic.
The officer supports the smooth implementation of field operations by coordinating appointments, facilitating beneficiary flow on-site, and acting as a key point of contact between beneficiaries, the clinical team, and partners. In parallel, the role ensures continuity of care through post-consultation follow-up and facilitation of beneficiaries’ integration into Primary Health Care Centers (PHCCs) for ongoing mental health services.
Through a combination of direct beneficiary engagement, field coordination, and liaison with PHCC focal points and other stakeholders, the Field & Care Officer contributes to an effective transition from mobile mental health services to accessible, community-based care.
B. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Field Facilitation & Beneficiary Engagement
- Attend weekly MMHC field visits (approximately 3 days per week).
- Greet and assist beneficiaries during MMHC visits, ensuring a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment.
- Support beneficiaries in completing intake forms and orient them throughout the visit process.
- Schedule appointments, manage the appointment log, and support smooth flow during field days.
- Actively promote MMHC services during on-site visits and respond to beneficiaries’ inquiries.
- Support mental health professionals in communicating key information to beneficiaries, including referrals, instructions, and follow-up pathways.
2. Communication, Scheduling & Follow-Up
- Respond to all MMHC-related telephone inquiries within one working day.
- Maintain accurate call-back and follow-up records.
- Communicate appointment confirmations, rescheduling, and instructions provided by practitioners.
- Support the Project Coordinator in coordinating field visits with PHCCs, partners, and relevant focal points.
3. Psychosocial Support & Care Coordination
- Overview post-consultation/ follow-up calls, conducted by MMHC volunteers, to:
- - Assess beneficiary experience and identify barriers to accessing PHCCs or other services.
- - Provide basic psychosocial support and psychoeducation, in line with Embrace protocols and under clinical supervision.
- - Offer guidance on self-management and available community resources.
- Identify cases requiring additional social work support and coordinate referrals to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to care.
4. PHCC Integration & Stakeholder Liaison
- Coordinate with PHCC focal points to facilitate smooth referrals and continuity of care.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with PHCCs and relevant stakeholders across regions.
- Advocate for beneficiaries to overcome barriers in accessing services.
- Monitor and report weekly on beneficiaries’ progress and challenges related to PHCC integration.
- Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and trainings as required.
5. Operational & Logistical Support
- Support the preparation and organization of materials and equipment needed for field visits.
- Ensure the MMHC bus remains clean, organized, and operational, in coordination with the Project Coordinator and MMHC driver.
- Support smooth day-to-day field operations and flag any operational challenges in a timely manner.
6. Data Management, Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately record beneficiary data into Embrace’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, ensuring confidentiality and data quality.
- Maintain clear and confidential records of follow-up interactions, beneficiary progress, and PHCC access.
- Support the collection and completion of donor and internal monitoring tools and surveys.
- Contribute to reporting by sharing field observations, documentation, and data insights when requested.
- Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and MMHC team to analyse data trends and support the development of mitigation strategies to address identified PHCC challenges.

D. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in mental health support, social work, case management, or community health settings.
- Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
E. REPORTING LINES
The Field and Care Officer reports to the Project Coordinator.
F. WORK LOCATION
Field visits cover different locations all over Lebanon (North, Bekaa, Mount Lebanon, South, etc)
