Under the direct supervision of the line Manager, the Clinical Psychologist is responsible for conducting structured clinical assessments, utilizing standardized tools, developing treatment plans with clear objectives, providing psychological interventions, and monitoring progress. The Clinical Psychologist supports MHPSS implementation, assesses cases referred by JRS teachers or social workers, and ensures coordination between MHPSS and education teams to achieve case objectives.
Main Responsibilities of the Position:
1-Sensitization and Capacity Building
- Conduct sessions for JRS staff on how to support adults in distress and children with behavioral or psychological challenges.
- Facilitate sessions on self-care and stress management when needed.
- Hold monthly meetings and provide ongoing support to Social Workers.
- Provide training for JRS Staff members in the project.
2-Clinical Interventions
- Provide appropriate mental health support and/or psychological treatment through individual interventions, focused PSS sessions, and psychoeducation.
- Work collaboratively with Social Workers to develop individualized intervention plans following the case management model; coordinate follow-up with schools.
- Coordinate with teachers and the Project Manager regarding student-related MHPSS concerns.
- Participate in case discussions with the line manager for cases under follow-up.
- Participate in scheduled case conferences with Social Workers and teachers to ensure alignment with the intervention objectives.
3- External Intervention and Coordination
- Build and maintain a referral network with external MHPSS actors, including case management units and specialized therapy services (speech therapy, psychomotor therapy, etc.).
- Receive referrals from Social Workers, caregivers, or education teams and provide sessions/follow-up based on a set schedule at JRS centers.
- Co-facilitate MHPSS awareness sessions for children or caregivers with the Social Worker and provide support to the education team.
- Collaborate with external experts as needed.
4-Reporting and Documentation
- Provide weekly progress reports to the line manager.
- Monitor the psychological progress of cases, review cases with the line manager, and refer to specialized services when necessary (speech therapy, psychomotor therapy, psychiatry, etc.).
- Participate in weekly MHPSS team meetings for case discussions, supervision, and coordination.
- Participate in monthly meetings with the education team.
- Maintain organized and confidential case files, including assessment and follow-up forms.
- Ensure accurate data collection by completing MHPSS database forms daily (assessment forms, follow-up forms, etc.).
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
- Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology .
- License to practice the profession from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).
- Minimum of 2 professional years of experience in the field.
- Background in GBV/Protection and communities of Refugees or Displaced people is an asset.
- Knowledge of English and Arabic both written and spoken is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
