Project Coordinator – Women-Led Cooperatives Support Project [ Pending Funding ]

Implementation Location : Akkar (Wadi Khaled, Masoudieh) & Bekaa (Bar Elias), Lebanon [ Project Coordinator to be based in Akkar with frequent visit to Bekaa ] 

Reports To : Operations & Programs Manager

Contract Duration : 7 Months (Approximately :March through September 2026)

Job Purpose :

The Project Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the Women-Led Cooperatives Support Project, ensuring timely delivery of all activities, effective support to selected cooperatives, and compliance with project objectives, standards, and donor requirements. The role ensures the operational, technical, and administrative aspects of the project are executed efficiently to enhance the capacity, market integration, and resilience of women-led cooperatives in Akkar and Bekaa.

Major Activities :

  • Lead the day-to-day management and coordination of project activities across Akkar and Bekaa.
  • Conduct or supervise mapping and needs assessment for women-led cooperatives in the target areas.
  • Coordinate with selected cooperatives based on their capacities to ensure tailored support and training.
  • Organize, monitor, and report on capacity-building sessions, including GMP, GHP, business development, and entrepreneurship training.
  • Oversee procurement and distribution of in-kind grants (equipment or goods worth USD 2,000 per cooperative).
  • Ensure protection, GBV mainstreaming, PSEA, and safeguarding principles are integrated into all project activities.
  • Facilitate partnerships and referrals with external service providers, including DRC’s GBV case management program.
  • Monitor project progress and report to management, including financial, operational, and programmatic updates.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation for all project activities.
  • Support in organizing awareness sessions and ensure community engagement in line with project objectives.
  • Contribute to drafting project reports, lessons learned, and recommendations for future programming.

  • Providing technical support to staff when needed

Key Performance Indicators:

  • All project activities completed within the agreed timeframe and budget.
  • Successful mapping and assessment of at least six women-led cooperatives in target areas.
  • Training sessions delivered to all cooperatives, tailored to their level.
  • In-kind grants distributed and utilized effectively to enhance production capacity.
  • Integration of protection, GBV, and safeguarding measures in all activities.
  • Timely submission of accurate progress reports and financial updates.
  • Positive feedback from cooperatives regarding project support.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Project Management, Development Studies, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in women’s empowerment, livelihoods, or cooperative development projects.
  • Experience in training and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Proven experience working with local communities in Lebanon, especially Akkar and Bekaa.
  • Familiarity with GBV prevention, protection, and safeguarding practices.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English; knowledge of French is an asset.
