Psychomotor Therapist

The Rene Moawad Foundation is seeking to recruit a Psychomotor Therapist for its project DIRASA.

Project Purpose:

Access to quality education remains limited for children with disabilities and special educational needs, particularly in vulnerable communities between Tripoli and Minnieh-Denniyeh area. The Rene Moawad Foundation is implementing the project Dirasa, in an Inclusive/Special Education approach which aims at supporting children with developmental delays, disabilities, and learning difficulties.

Job Description:

The Psychomotor Therapist will provide specialized interventions addressing motor, cognitive, emotional, and relational development to enhance children’s functional independence and school participation.To assess and provide psychomotor therapy interventions that improve children’s gross and fine motor skills, body awareness, coordination, emotional regulation, and overall functional development to facilitate their inclusion in school and community life.

 

  1. Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct psychomotor assessments for children with developmental concerns.
  2. Identify motor coordination difficulties, sensory processing issues, body schema challenges, and emotional-motor integration problems.
  3. Prepare assessment reports with clear recommendations.
  4. Provide individual and group psychomotor therapy sessions.
  5. Use play-based, movement-based, and sensory integration activities.
  6. Monitor progress and adapt therapy strategies accordingly.
  7. Participate in case conferences with orthophonists, psychologists, special educators, and social workers.
  8. Provide guidance to teachers on classroom motor-support strategies.
  9. Coordinate referrals when necessary.
  10. Conduct parent consultations and provide home-based activity guidance.
  11. Train caregivers on supporting motor and emotional development.
  12. Maintain confidential therapy records.
  13. Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports.
  14. Contribute to donor reporting and program evaluation.

 

Education:

 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychomotor Therapy / Psychomotricity.

 

 

Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

 

Professional Competencies:

  • Valid professional certification (where applicable under national regulations).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with children with developmental delays or disabilities.
  • Experience in NGO or community-based settings is an asset.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Strong knowledge of child development and motor learning principles.
  • Ability to design structured and play-based interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Documentation and reporting proficiency.
  • Commitment to child protection and safeguarding.

 

Duration:

The implementation of individual sessions in this Project is starting March 2026 and will be ending in September 2026. Specialists is expected to deliver all the required services within this period.

 

Payment terms

The Specialist is expected to complete and submit:

  • The approved deliverable
  • Relevant invoice and timetable to be able to process the payment
