INTERSOS is an International NGO that works to bring assistance to people in danger, victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts. Established in 1992 with support from the Italian Federation of Trade Unions, its actions are based on the values of solidarity, justice, human dignity, equal rights and opportunities for all people and respect for diversity and coexistence, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable and the unprotected.
INTERSOS identifies with the core values of CONCORD, the European Confederation of NGOs; it adheres to international codes of conduct for humanitarian organizations and the values and principles expressed within those codes. INTERSOS is an independent association which, through its own humanitarian operators, intervenes to effectively answer the needs of people in serious crises situations, mainly in the world's poorest regions, who are suffering, deprived of rights, dignity and essentials goods. It maintains a flexible operating structure. The head office in Italy coordinates, supports and monitors the planned activities in the countries of intervention carried out by decentralized offices.

JOB PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND:
The enumerator will be responsible for collecting quantitative data through interviews and surveys, storing and transferring data, including through digitization, in line with their designated roles. The accuracy and reliability of the collected data depend on each enumerator’s skills, ability to perform assigned tasks, resilience to long working hours, and coordination with the line manager
The Enumerator will report to the Protection Monitoring Officer regarding any issues encountered and lessons learned, both at the team level and during interviews, data collection or data consolidation. At the end of each working day, a briefing session will be held with the team leader to review completed tasks and pending locations. The enumerator must be proficient in using Android devices (tablets) to submit collected data digitally to a central server, as well as have basic IT skills for the use of laptops when required Data will be recorded digitally and will only be recorded on paper in case of emergencies or connectivity issues. For data recorded on paper, the enumerator will digitalize the information as per the supervisor’s request.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
• Ensure coordination with the line manager, as well as MEAL team and support departments in all steps of data collection, verification and digitization of INTERSOS data for activities.
• For in person interviews, support the Protection Officer to guarantee that external stakeholders (municipalities and local authorities) are aware of INTERSOS activities in their area, ensuring that the relevant stakeholders are constantly informed of date and location of interviews in due time.
• Report complaints to the line manager
• Confirm HHs/individuals’ location.
• Represent INTERSOS in the field.
• Attend relevant training as requested by INTERSOS and donors.
• Data Collection: conduct the required tasks related to interviews through visits and phone calls and thorough archiving of all data
• Make sure that all questions have been asked and that the recorded answers are clear and correct
• Respect the time required for data collection, data consolidation, archiving and digitization .
• Maintain constant contact with team members and beneficiaries (receive their requests, provide available information, etc.).
• Perform all other necessary actions for the functioning and success of the project in order to deliver assistance to the designated beneficiaries.
• Respect the confidentiality of the data collected, data protocols.
• Follow INTERSOS security and internal procedures.
• Participate in briefing and debriefing sessions of the organization and the weekly plan with the line manager
• Be committed to participate to any other task when asked in order to achieve the project overall objective.
Education:
- High School and/or Technical Degree.
Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:
- Experience with participatory fieldwork, methodologies, monitoring and reporting
- Experience in using data collection software (KOBO) or other data collection tools
- Experience with data consolidation, archiving and digitization.
- Knowledge of humanitarian principles and good knowledge of the aid sector in Lebanon
- Capability to establish with the persons and families a good and respectful contact in order to ensure the quality of interviews.
- Good physical fitness to walk distances if necessary
- Patience, good personal organization, good communication and ability to work in teams, seriously, rigorously and personal accountability.
- Very good Interpersonal and Diplomatic Skills in client/beneficiaries-facing situations.
- Initiative, flexibility and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently, and with limited supervision.
- Able to input data on Android tablets.
- Good level of numeracy.
- A valid Lebanese driving license and ownership of a private vehicle are desirable.
- Humanitarian motivation and commitment to INTERSOS values.
- Respect of INTERSOS Code of Conduct, policies and procedures.
LANGUAGES:
Fluency in Arabic and good command of written and spoken English is required.
