Lebanon’s economy has been severely affected by the escalation of conflict, compounding an already fragile macroeconomic situation marked by currency depreciation, institutional paralysis, and declining investor confidence. The objective of this series is to produce concise, evidence-based policy briefs that assess the economic consequences of the war across key sectors and propose realistic, implementable policy measures.
The series aims to contribute to the public policy debate by providing concrete recommendations that can support economic stabilisation, recovery, and resilience.
Selected contributors will produce a series of up to eight policy briefs, each addressing a specific dimension of the economic impact of the war. Topics may include, but are not limited to:
Macroeconomic stability and fiscal policy responses
Impact on key sectors (e.g. energy, tourism, trade, agriculture, banking)
Labour market disruptions and unemployment
Infrastructure damage and reconstruction priorities
Private sector resilience and SME support mechanisms
External financing, donor coordination, and international support
Trade disruptions and supply chain impacts
Monetary policy constraints and financial sector stability
Applicants are encouraged to propose a coherent set of topics forming a structured series.
