Makani Center Supervisor

  1. Scope of Work

A. Strategic & Operational Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Makani Center and collective shelters , ensuring smooth implementation of all programmatic activities.
  • Develop weekly and monthly action plans aligned with UNICEF’s guidance and project targets.
  • Supervise staff performance, attendance, and task distribution.
  • Ensure activities follow the official Makani curricula, including:
    • CB-ECE
    • BLN
    • ALP
    • RS support
    • Youth BLN & Functional Skills
    • Digital learning sessions (Akelius, Learning Passport, Madristi)
    • ECD and Nutrition packages
    • FPSS and community support
    • Possitive Parenting 
    • PSS activities 
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, child-friendly environment in accordance with safeguarding standards.

B. Staff Supervision & Coordination

  • Directly supervise all center-based  and mobile staff: Emergency facilitators, PSS facilitators,outreach volunteer, cleaner, guard, and digital hub focal point.
  • Conduct regular meetings to review progress, identify challenges, and improve performance.
  • Coordinate with shared staff: FPSS Facilitator, Inclusion Officer, and other part-time roles.
  • Ensure timely completion of attendance sheets, participant tracking, and class schedules.

C. Reporting & Data Management

  • Oversee accurate data entry on the required reporting system and monitoring tools, in coordination with the Admin/Data Entry Focal Point.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on activities, attendance, challenges, and achievements.
  • Support MEAL processes, field visits, and evaluations requested by UNICEF or SFD.

D. Child Protection, Safeguarding & Inclusion

  • Ensure strict adherence to SFD and UNICEF safeguarding policies.
  • Monitor risks and refer cases to the Community Worker, ECD Facilitator, FPSS Facilitator, or specialized services.
  • Collaborate with the Inclusion Focal Point to guarantee inclusion of children with disabilities or additional needs.
  • Ensure all team members sign and respect safeguarding, PSEA, and code of conduct policies.

E. Logistics, Administration & Facility Management

  • Oversee center maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and supplies.
  • Coordinate procurement requests with the Admin/Logistics Unit.
  • Ensure digital hub materials (tablets, laptops, chargers) are used, stored, and maintained properly.
  • Monitor security procedures in collaboration with the guard.

F. Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Support outreach efforts to identify out-of-school children and vulnerable families.
  • Maintain relationships with municipalities, local groups, and community actors.
  • Represent the center in coordination meetings when needed.

Relationships: Supervises,  Admin Assistant, Outreach Volunteer, Guards, Cleaners, Facilitators, Digital Hub FP

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Management, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project coordination, center management, or education/child protection programming.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Experience working in emergency settings & also with vulnerable populations and youth.
Strong reporting, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Arabic and basic English; excellent computer literacy
