Al Midan NGO is seeking to recruit Volunteers – Emergency Response & Recreational Activities to support the implementation of emergency interventions in shelters across Zgharta District and Minieh.

Please note that recruitment for this position is contingent upon donor agreement and signature; however, interviews and onboarding may be conducted in advance as part of the selection process.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Activities & Implementation

• Support the implementation of on-site activities as scheduled by the Field Officer
• Assist in conducting CBPSS and recreational activities (games, sports, group engagement) for children and youth
• Ensure all required materials and equipment are prepared and available before activities

Community Support & Engagement

• Engage respectfully with beneficiaries, including children, caregivers, and vulnerable individuals
• Provide support during assessments, distributions, and activity implementation
• Guide beneficiaries and clearly explain activity processes and selection criteria when needed

Beneficiary Interaction & Accountability

• Respond to beneficiaries’ questions and concerns in a respectful and empathetic manner
• Report any issues, complaints, or protection concerns immediately to the Field Officer
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants

Data Collection & Reporting

• Participate in training on digital tools and data collection methods (e.g., mobile applications)
• Support basic data collection, attendance tracking, and activity documentation
• Report daily progress, achievements, and challenges to the Field Officer

Coordination & Teamwork

• Work closely with facilitators, social workers, and field teams
• Share feedback, observations, and suggestions to improve activities and services
• Support team members and contribute to a collaborative field environment

Compliance & Safeguarding

• Adhere to Al Midan’s Code of Conduct, safeguarding policies, and PSEA standards
• Follow volunteer guidelines, including ethical behavior and confidentiality
• Ensure respect, dignity, and non-discrimination in all interactions

Additional Support

• Assist in sorting, packing, and distributing essential items when required
• Perform any additional tasks as requested by the Field Officer based on operational needs

Volunteer Requirements:

• Interest in humanitarian work, community service, or social impact
• Previous volunteering or experience in community work is an asset
• Ability to work with vulnerable populations in emergency settings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Team-oriented, flexible, and proactive attitude
• Ability to commit to fieldwork in shelters
• Familiarity with Zgharta and Minieh areas is an asset
• Fluency in Arabic; basic English is an asset

Additional Notes:

• Volunteers must be available for field deployment based on activity schedules
• Flexibility is essential due to the emergency nature of the intervention
• Orientation and basic training on safeguarding, PSEA, and field activities will be provided

In response to the ongoing crisis, Al Midan is delivering emergency assistance and child protection services to displaced populations in shelters. Volunteers play a key role in supporting field teams to ensure effective, safe, and dignified service delivery while promoting wellbeing, engagement, and social cohesion among affected communities.

Volunteers will support the implementation of field activities, including community-based psychosocial support (CBPSS), recreational activities, and basic assistance distributions, under the supervision of field officers.
