Field Worker

Areas of Responsibility:

The Field worker will act as the first representative of the organization amongst the beneficiaries, their families and the local community. He/she will closely work with local communities to ensure that the project activities have widespread acceptance. He/she will lead all field activities (Home/shelter visits, community dialogues, awareness sessions and campaigns), data collection, and analysis. He/she will work closely with field teams, PHCC teams and other, stakeholders, and data management personnel to ensure accurate and effective project implementation.

The field worker will ensure increased information to women, girls, children and their caregivers about services and engagement in risk reduction activities. They will facilitate outreach visits, community awareness raising on available services, risk identification and action planning in coordination with the senior community mobilizer, project manager, and social workers.

Community Outreach

• Acts as the first representative of the project among the communities, unions of municipalities, project participants and their families. He/she will closely work with local communities, and local leaders to ensure that the project activities have widespread acceptance. He/she will lead all outreach and awareness raising activities (Home and/or shelter visits, community dialogues, awareness sessions and campaigns).
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with communities.

• Identify potential participants and provide accurate information about the project’s activities.
• Carry out field assessments to identify community interventions, etc.
• Carry out awareness sessions, information sessions…
• Support in completing data collection (surveys, FGDs, KII….) and in data management and analysis when needed
• Support in preparation and carrying out needed activities trainings.
• Complete raising awareness activities, and/or other field activities as requested by management team.

• Assist the social workers in identifying vulnerable communities and identify areas where high density of vulnerable people exists for service referral.
• Organize a weekly outreach visit to provide information about services, conduct activities to identify safety risks in the community.
• Equip and update the field team with information about available services in their locations.
• Raise awareness of women and girls on topics including: General protection, CP, and GBV, etc.
• Facilitate confidential referrals to the social workers when there is a need for specialized and necessary support or case management and access to adequate services.
• Facilitate the working process of the team inside the collective sites, the centres and at mobile safe spaces’ locations if or when needed.
• Identify and prioritize areas where high density or vulnerable population exist for service referral and outreach
• With the support and supervision of the senior Community mobilizer, conduct regular assessments of general protection safety in their communities and report findings to project team for follow up action.

Trainings and meetings

• Participate in core skill building training and/or learning modules, as required

Job Requirements:

Required

• Ability to engage with community members in an open manner, maintain confidentiality and respect.
• Positive and professional attitude, able to organize.
• Works well in a team, flexible, and able to handle pressure well and able to move in the field
• Computer literacy preferred but not required.
• Fluency in Arabic required. Basic ability to communicate in English helpful but not required.
• Strong communication skills
• Critical thinking and analysis competencies.

   

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Staff will work in the field

Reporting

The Field worker shall report to the Project manager.
